ARE THESE 500 POINT DEALS BEING TAKEN OFF THE SHELVES?
Just been into Tesco Castle Lane East, Bournemouth. It is a mega-huge store and yet they had hardly any of the 500 points fragrance deals, the cheapest was £18.00.

I went into Castle Lane East on Thursday lunchtime and there were plenty of the fragrances available then, so maybe they are having stock problems now that this loophole is widely known via the MSE E-mail?

We stocked up with perfume and after shave for Christmas and Birthday presents and came home with well over 5,000 points - that'll go nicely towards next year's summer holiday.

We also noticed that G. H. Martel Prestige Brut Champagne (£26.98) is on with 800 points, which means they're paying you to drink champagne! We grabbed two of those and four Leopard's Leap whites (£5.35 with 100 points) to get 2071 points or £82.84 of rewards for an outlay of £71.59 with the 5% wine discount - kerching.

Of course six Martel champagnes would have been a better points haul, but six bottles of £25+ champagne seemed like a bit of an extravagance even if they are technically paying us to drink it!

(edit: just noticed that someone mentioned this earlier!)

I think the problem with the perfume was it was widely known on here, long before it was in Martin's e-mail and in his NOTW column. Stores won't have ridiculously high levels of stock of high value goods such as Perfumes and Champagne. Many people are also stocking up by buying many at a time, and I imagine stocks will go quickly. Some of the points offers at the moment are very good, good way to stock up the clubcard!
  • Hi All,

Just a heads up that there is a new bonus points offer on Tesco savings. We're checking it out and full info will be in the weekly email.

Thanks for this. Trouble is my local Tesco has very limited stock. You are lucky if you find two brands of the same product on the shelves. :(
Thank you for reading this message.
