I've only recently started to collect Tesco Clubcard points but what i dont understand is that in order to spend points, do you need to wait for the vouchers to arrive in the post?
I've been using Nectar at Sainsbury's for years and to spend points you just hand your card over. No waiting for vouchers.

    Is this true for Tesco?

I got one of those Tesco Clubcard Bonus receipts with my purchases today. 200 Extra Points if I top up my mobile by £20 before 16 August.

Last time I got one of those I only had to spend £10 on top up :(

I have just bought a new phone and had to buy £10 worth of airtime with it.

I am on PAYG and if I spend £2 in a month, I would be surprised. Anyone want a voucher :D

Hi I-LOV-MONEY I have pm'ed you re- top up voucher.

    Thanks

    Dx

    Afternoon all !

Yes you have to wait for the vouchers to arrive from Tesco before you can spend them. However as has often been discussed it is best to exchange them for Rewards (they will send you a catalogue or you can pick one up in stores). The value of the voucher quadruples with Rewards. So your £10 voucher is worth £40 towards a nice meal out !

Hi All, just for your info. I have just tried to join the Tesco Clubclard Plus as per the details from this website, only to be told that as of two days ago Tesco have withdrawn this. I asked if it was because people are making money out of doubling up on points, but was told diplomatically, that "all they have been told at the call centre was that it was no longer available. It may become available again, but Tesco are looking into other deals." More like "bloody hell everyone has read Martin's tips and signed up for it and we are losing money here". Anyway, it may be worth a try in case I was misinformed, if so let me know.

I have had Tesco Clubcard Plus for many years. Nobody has told me it has been withdrawn. I used it yesterday and there was no query.

I think they are just not signing any new Clubcard Pluse ones up, but existing ones should be ok.

Anyone know when the next Clubcard statement date is? Have been using these deals to build up my vouchers to use on Open University course fees (don't think these are one you can get cheaper any other way), but have to register soon and am a bit worried about my vouchers coming on time. Is it 31st July?

I am sure if you ring them up they will tell you. (Check 'saynoto0870.com' before ringing!). Normally when it is imminent they print at the bottom of the receipt that your vouchers will be with you by ..... (normally they have come long before that date).

Surely you don't have to pay your OU fees before September. Didn't realise that you could use them for fees.

  • The website says:

Any Clubcard points you have collected prior to 26th July will be converted into Clubcard vouchers and will arrive by 8th September

so you should get your vouchers between those dates, based on past statements my vouchers will come about mid to late August but obviously not everyone will get them at the same time.

If you want to earn more points for this statement, you'd probably have to do it today or tomorrow to give enough time for your account to be credited with the points.;)

That's a big gap for receiving vouchers this quarter!

I've done well out of Clubcard Points so far:

Return flights to the Canaries (when BA still went there from Manchester) - approx £1000 worth in 2 goes
Economy return flights to Vancouver - approx £2000 worth in 2 goes
Premium Economy flights to Vancouver - approx £2000 worth in 1 go

This year: Business Class flights to Vancouver: these are flexible, so in theory worth £13500 to a cash buyer  - this was an extra good deal last November, as it only cost me the same number of points as Economy

Already well on the way to my next flights - 9 month of Tesco shopping has got me over 20,000 Clubcard points and I haven't even been 'trying' this year!!!

Tesco is my corner shop  We only shop elsewhere if Tesco don't sell it....

Once upon a time I used to waste the vouchers in store!
