Here's a way NOT to boost your points

    :rotfl::rotfl:

"PC Shaun Pennicott, 42, racked up 75,000 points after discovering a loophole on self-service tills at his local store"

"The scam was unearthed when Tesco staff contacted police after their computers flagged up the enormous amount of points on his Clubcard account"

Looks like I'll be getting a call from the boys in blue once they spot the 65,000 points I accumumulated last quarter (all legitimately, I hasten to add!)

Haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere but there are 400 bonus points when you buy a set of Diamond Boutique underwear at the moment. The bra's go up to a 38DD and knickers/thongs up to an 18 I believe. Nice quality items, made by Ultimo. Prices are £14-16 for a bra and £7-8 for matching knicks. Nice stuff, had black, blue, pink and white sets in the 2 stores I looked in.

If you and a partner happen to have £3000 each during the recession you can each earn 1000 points if you invest in their instant saver before mid-sept and leave it in until early-oct 2009. If you then put this towards flights / holidays (sadly they now limit Virgin to £700) / airmiles this can be x4 then you have 4000 clubcard points to play with.
  • Just a note to say Tesco voucher double up ect comes to an end in September. If anyone has left thier vouchers in the Christmas saver scheme they need to opt out.To do this call customer services but hurry you only have a week or so until the dedline.Once you have received your vouchers you can exchange them and they are valid for three months.

I thought it ended then, but the leaflet which arrived this morning with the clubcard statement seemed as if it was open ended.

I think it only ends on certain departments in September.

In the latest mailing, there is no end date on the majority of departments.

    Cheers

Your notice that restrictions are being applied to Virgin and Cosmos Clubcard deals from September 1st is unfair of Tesco and extremely mistimed. I have been saving for 21 months to get a holiday in New Zealand for my husband and I. With the current August Clubcard vouchers I will have enough to book. However I have not yet received my vouchers nor have I been informed by Tesco of the change. By introducing the change so quickly, without thought as to the truly loyal customers who have been saving for ages and who may be just short of their required amount, not informing customers who have not yet even received their vouchers, and knowing that some people's vouchers (mine included it seems) will not arrive until after the date of the change, as well as needing a further five days for exchanged vouchers to arrive after exchange anyway, Tesco are treating customers very unfairly. Are these points, Martin, that you can put to Tesco so loyal customers at least get a chance to include the current mailing into their purchase? After all it is not our fault if Tesco are tardy in getting the current mailing out. Furthermore the proposed restrictions may make the deal unworthwhile as with only a max of £700 on a Virgin holiday deal, you can buy a late Virgin deal saving that anyway (especially if a couple are travelling) and still have the Clubcard vouchers in your hand.

The vouchers have started to come in the post... my husband's came on Monday and mine came yesterday (our surname begins with 'C') but my daughter's haven't come yet (her surname begins with 'J'). I have no idea if they issue them alpabetically.
We exchange ours for Airmiles and did this as soon as we got the clubcard vouchers and they are now showing in our Airmiles account but I've never had experience of changing them to 'deals vouchers' or whatever they are called nowadays. The last boost of 'Clubcard to Airmiles' has pushed our Airmiles balance to enough for a flight to Canada.
    Hope yours come soon!

Not sure they are alphabetical, as our surname is 'S' and we recieved one statement last Friday and the other 2 on Monday.

These changes have been imposed by Cosmos and Virgin, NOT by Tesco. The changes have been on Tesco's website for quite a while.

Cosmos and Virgin will be doing this due to the volumes of Tesco Clubcard redemptions being too high for them in the current financial climate.

Tesco DO pay the companies, but ONLY the face value of the Clubcard vouchers - ie 25% of the Deal value. The rest of the cost is borne by the holiday company.

It could have been worse - they could have left the scheme altogether, like MFI (a long time before they went bust - they gave away so many kitchens that they almost went bust then!!), Motorpoint (gave away too many free cars) and a number of other holiday companies who have already been and gone.
