Tesco Clubcard Points Bonus Discussion

According to Goldsmiths, where my son recently exchanged Tesco reward tokens, the partner and Tesco share the difference so Tesco in fact pay out more than 25%. Only quoting the salesman! Who knows how the difference is really covered. Even my son who was an accountant at Tesco HQ until a few years ago had no idea how it was covered. Anyway a Clubcard Manager is promising to contact me over the issue of late delivered vouchers and the change date for holiday deals. We'll see what he has to say.0

I got my vouchers this morning. Usually it's only a few quid, but because I took advantage of the Torres wine offer, I've got £59 worth , which I intend to double up to buy more wine, so £118!
My question is - I also have a £9 voucher, if I spend more than £60. Would this be taken off before the wine voucher, or after? I assume after0 -
Last week (19th August at 14:00) my wife and I went to Lewisham Tesco and I attempted to double up £15 of clubcard vouchers (1 £5 and 1 £10). The £5 voucher went through OK but I was told that the system wasn't accepting my £10 voucher and I would have to contact the helpline to get it sorted.
Stupidly, as it turned out, I decided to wait until I got home to do this and when I did I was told that the voucher had been Doubled Up successfully at 14:02 and that if I hadn't received my coupon I'd have to take it up with the store and they would be able to sort it out and if necessary the store should contact the clubcard helpline.
Yesterday I went into the Lewisham Store to sort this out. After speaking to the customer services counter a supervisor was summoned and he spoke to the clubcard helpline who said there was nothing they could do as the system said the voucher had been redeemed. The supervisor also said there was nothing he could do so now I've been left with a £10 voucher I can't even use at face value and effectively I'm £20 out of pocket.
So be warned if you're told to contact the clubcard helpline by the customer services counter then use your mobile and do it immediately.
I shall, of course, be submitting a written complaint to Tesco.0 -
Not quite.
The 500 points are worth £5.00 (at face value) and it is this value that are converted to Air Miles.
In your example, one bottle gives 500 points which could buy 2 x 60 Airmiles = 120. So 11 bottles would give you 1320 Air Miles.
The £20 figure quoted is the spending power of 500 points in the Clubcard Book. You could for example buy 11 bottles and use your 5500 points as £220 of a holiday or to buy theme park tickets etc.

If you're following the tip about bonus points on buying inkjet cartridges, don't forget that you can get more bonus points for recycling them.
Tesco pay 100 green clubcard points (£4 in deals) for recycling certain cartridges.
Info (and form to request envelopes if they don't have any in your local store) here: http://www.therecyclingfactory.com/uk/programmes/casestudy-MuscularDystrophy.asp
List of cartridges here: http://www.therecyclingfactory.com/uk/services/cartridges-clubcard1.asp
(although it excludes Tesco branded ones, so looks like you can't double up)0 -
I doubled up 2 x 10 vouchers for 40 in the clothing dept. Used 3 of the a couple of days ago, and then today tried to use the 4th, but the store said it wouldnt scan, as it had been utilised !!!
Complained to them, and the manager, but was told to it was nothing to do with them, and I had to sort it out with Clubcard.
When I got home, rang Clubcard, who checked the reference on the voucher, and confirmed that this had been used, but that I had only used 2 of the vouchers, so it was a store error in that they had returned to me the used voucher !!!!!
Bank to the store (good job its only a few minutes away !) - explained to them what Clubcard had said, and they redeemed the voucher.
Was sorted in the end, but I was so infuriated with the lack of help the store was

Be careful when booking hotels using your Tesco points. It can work out a lot cheaper not to use them as you will be charged top price for a room that you could get at a bargain price. I booked Old English Inns using my Tesco points and I was charge £110 a night. as a direct Old Enlish Inn soffer I could of had the room for under £30, and booking direct with the hotel for £79. So I wasted my points.Take care.0

Yesterday Tesco exchanged my £5.00 club card voucher for the double up £10.00 wine voucher. The lady said this will definately be the last time Tesco run this promotion, because they have now introduced double points on store purchases.0

I just telephoned Clubcard and was told that Clubcard Plus users still only get the same double points as before (now the same as ordinary Clubcard holders). She did say the double points scheme may not be "forever", but jumped from a couple of months to a year in one breath !
Anybody else enquired about this ?Thank you for reading this message.0
