good deals!!!I-LOV-MONEY wrote: »I got one of those Tesco Clubcard Bonus receipts with my purchases today. 200 Extra Points if I top up my mobile by £20 before 16 August.
Last time I got one of those I only had to spend £10 on top up
I have just bought a new phone and had to buy £10 worth of airtime with it.
I am on PAYG and if I spend £2 in a month, I would be surprised. Anyone want a voucher0 -
I used to work at Tesco.......I print coupons and vouchers off the internet and use them against all shopping. Tesco's coupon policy allows you to pay for 100% of your bill in coupons as long as they are all in date, different and Tesco sells the product. You dont have to buy the product to get the coupon for the item off your bill. I have this in writing from Tesco !!!.... The best way is to spend about £50.....use a £5 off £50 spend voucher and also currently grap 5p off per litre of petrol, then use coupons and vouchers to reduce the bill as much as you can.....i use the £1 - £2 off product vouchers i print off the interent to reduce the bill down to pence at times for a trolley of food !!!!! The cashier obvisouly have to accept the vouchers.......if they dont...ask to see the cashiers manager and ask them to quote you the policy on coupons....THIS IS ALLOWED....STILL GET PROBLEMS ? WRITE TO TESCO AND GET THE COUPON POLICY IN WRITING THEN TAKE THAT INTO STORE WITH YOU FOR IF YOU GET OTHER PROBLEMS. EASY !!!
If you work in tesco you will have a 10% off staff card which gives you clubcard points and your discount but if you hand over a normal clubcard first at the till you get points on that card first and then when you hand over your 10% discount card you'll also get the points again on that card. I.e have two cards and get double the points.
If you have a tesco credit card you'll earn clubcard points for paying with the tesco credit card and also using it as a clubcard but if you do the same as above and hand the cashier a normal clubcard first and then your tesco credit card you'll get earn clubcard points on a normal clubcard too !!!
If you buy products that are buy one get one free and they are both reduced your likely to end up getting the product for free and make some money too.....i bought packs of chicken last xmas eve....they all had to be sold off before xmas so were all reduced down AND they were on a buy one get one free deal......because they were reduced they went through the till then for the free one the computer thinks oh hang on i need to take off the original price of the pack too on top of the discounted ticket price so the chicken pack was £5.99 buy one get one free ....reduced to £2.99 and buy one get one free......the till charged me £2.99 then took off the £5.99 that the other pack would have cost and i had £2 credit against my other shopping and free chicken.....realised it work and went and bought 30 packs against other food and got all that free too!!!! Look out for other items like this ....reduced and buy one get one free
Happy shopping.!!!0 -

The above is correct but you don't actually get more points by doing that (ie you dont earn the same points on both cards) - you can only have one clubcard associated to a transaction - either its your regular clubcard, or credit card clubcard, not both.
If you swipe the regular clubcard first, and then pay with the CC card, you'll get the same number of points as if you've just handed over your credit card clubcard, but they'll be split across both cards.
The best way to earn points on your shopping spend is to use the Tesco Clubcard Plus which pays two points for every pound spent at the till or on petrol. The next best is the credit card, which varies depending when you opened the account (most are now 1 point per £ as per a regular clubcard, then 1 point per £4 spend for using the card)
Cheers

Went to Tesco tonight, spent £60 on clothing and wine e.g. £30 in vouchers. I missed the fact that although it said 200 points if you buy a dress, I bought two dresses and only got 200 points. I hate having to go back and argue,I will though, one item marked as dress the other, shift dress:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

Are you saying that if I pay using my CC+ I would get double the bonus points? I thought it's just double the ordinary points for buying the product??Please tell me I'm wrong and I'll fill my freezer with bacon!!!

The bonus points are the same whichever card you use. It's the basic spending that gets different point levels.
If you spend £100 using a Clubcard Plus you get £8 of spending power on deals in the catalogue.0 -

ARE THESE 500 POINT DEALS BEING TAKEN OFF THE SHELVES?
Just been into Tesco Castle Lane East, Bournemouth. It is a mega-huge store and yet they had hardly any of the 500 points fragrance deals, the cheapest was £18.00.0
