Basically if you sign up for Lloyds TSB Platinum Current Account, which gives you 4% on your money, you pay £180 per year, but you get lots of benfits which includes multi-trip worldwide travel insurance up to the age of 79. They will cover pre-existing medical conditions but you have to tell them and there may be a surcharge.
Lloyds TSB won't cover my pre-existing conditions and I was not given any option for a surcharge. Last year when I asked about a surcharge they said that none was available.
I think they told me that if you have more than two conditions, then none is covered.0 -

[quote=wigan1705;10971753]After trawling round the internet for almost two days looking for travel insurance for pre existing medical conditions (I have a pacemaked fitted for heard block) I managed to get a really good deal with jsinsurance.co.uk . For a single trip holiday to Turkey for myself and my two daughters I was qouted £33.00. Now thats what I call a good deal!!! This is for 5 million medical cover

I, to my surprise, got the best quote from American Express. They accept pre-existing conditions as long as you have not attended a specialist or had a new referral within a year. ideal for diabetics (wife) or those with a heart condition (self).

John Be VERY careful with this policy, from experiance they take your money saying you've got the cover, until you need to make a claim, then it's a case of that was a pre existing condition we're not paying out. The very same company
I got a bill for 14500 for mothers 5 day stay in hospital, 195 for exrays, plus 350 for the doctor that put her in hospital.:mad:0 -

I have virtually the same type of policy. i.e. covering pre-existing medical conditions as long as the condition has been stable and you have not seen a doctor in the last 12 months with covermytravels.com and it is stated on the policy that full cover including pre exisiting medical conditions are covered, so I don't see how they can get out of that.0 -
I have an on-line quote from this company which is less than £90.00 for both of my parents to travel worldwide (exc. USA) for two months. They both have pre-existing medical conditions and had been quoted about £600-£800 by various other companies.
However, I have never heard of Karma and never see them mentioned in any press/reviews etc. Has anyone ever used them or heard good (or bad!) things about them? The prices seem almost too good to be true, so I am a little cautious!
Thanks for any pointers. I am going to try other companies mentioned on this forum too.0 -
Thanks to all who have posted here we have found a good deal with Medici which covers our complicated medical situation.
I was greatly encouraged by all those with difficult health who still travel for pleasure so we are off to Egypt again with RA, diabetes, hypertension and angina but with good cover for less than £85!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Having had travel insurance through Boots for several years, I notified them when I recently developed DVT; their response was to exclude this condition totally from the cover, and of course not to reduce the premium accordingly from the quoted level of £135, worldwide multi trip including USA. I was not happy with this, and was advised by a colleague to look a the website of the charity Cancer Bacup where there is a large section devoted to Travel Insurance with pre-existing medical conditions. I contacted SAGA, who were very helpful and quoted £134 ( for two persons) with full cover for the condition, less £15 if I would allow them to quote me for Car or Home Insurance. I have now taken out this cover, less the USA cover, and paid £100. The Car insurance quote is attractive too!0
