Have a read through MSE at the many many many Axa horror stories, you could also find many on the Telegraphs Financial Agony Aunt page.
I'm a broker and brokers will tell you that Axa's customer service and claims service is very hit and miss, ti's either very good or more often bad. Here is a survey of brokers on Insurers with Axa coming in last http://www.insurancetimes.co.uk/images/ITW_041208_16.pdf0 -

The M&S Premium Club policy is underwritten by Axa who are not great on Travel Claims.
The providers who offer "Free Travel Insurance" are often more strict on charging for Existing Medical Conditions
Well they've turned me down anyhow on the phone. So that's that one crossed off my list :rolleyes:0 -
Gocat generally the free policies will decline people with medical conditions or want to charge a lot extra, they have to do this as the premium is "Free" and people with medical conditions tend to be more likely to make a claim.
Try Pink who are good when Breast Cancer is involved http://www.insurepink.co.uk/ or the other trick is to have a look on one of the cancer assoications website and they normally have a link to an Insurer who is sympathetic to cancer patients0 -
Thanks dacouch. got a policy now from Pulse Travel . Have been doing some research recently and they were one of the cheapest and have included mine and hubbies pre existing medical conditions for £370 :eek:.
But get this. got a quote from All clear travel (who seem to be the same as pulse travel) and they quoted £900++:eek::eek::eek:
Seemed every day I tried for quotes with the same info input, I was getting different amounts :rolleyes:0 -
Hi
All the family have pre existing medical conditions and I found Intune through this forum to be very reasonable. This year they have joined Liverpool and Victoria and was able to go through the medical conditions at the time of renewal without having to ring a separate number and then ring back to accept.
Two of the medical conditions are heart related but stable.

They let you run a tab, but take your card. I don't know if this is standard, I was a bit uncomfortable with this but it worked out allright.0
