Yes we do live together, will give a few calls today.
Do you take it straight away or when you booked it, or a week or so before? (The holiday)0 -
Dual, have you tried GetMy? They were exponentially cheaper than anyone else for DH's list of PEMCs, all of which are stable but some of which might conceivably flare up.
BaileyB, your wife to be does need to declare her hayfever, but most insurers will have 'supplementary' questions for minor things like that (not wishing to belittle it!) along the lines of how many times have you been hospitalised with it in the last X months. If the answer's 'none' then it's usually accepted with no added costs or problems.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

BaileyB - do your research and find an insurance company you are happy with. You should be able to get a reference number off them so that you can ring back and give the go ahead without having to go through all the questions again. Book your holiday then ring to start your insurance. It needs to be done as soon as your holiday is booked rather than just before your holiday - anything could happen in the meantime which may cause you to cancel your holiday - no insurance = no claim for a refund of deposit or full price (depending how close to the holiday you might have to claim, usually the balance is paid a couple of months before you go.0 -
Wondering if anyone here has tried and managed to get the free travel insurance via marks and spencer premium club
http://money.marksandspencer.com/premium-club/overview/
Says its for anyone under 80 so would imagine pre existing conditions shouldnt faze them0 -
The M&S Premium Club policy is underwritten by Axa who are not great on Travel Claims.
The providers who offer "Free Travel Insurance" are often more strict on charging for Existing Medical Conditions0 -
Ok not really an insurance question as never got round to get any  but dont know where to put this.
Hubby booked flights with Air Asia to Malaysia few months back for travel end of October to visit relatives.
Unfortunately I've since been diagnosed with breast cancer, dont know how severe yet (only just had lumpectomy and waiting for result etc).
I really want to cancel the flight as dont think it will be good for me to travel so soon, plus dont know yet what future treatment I have coming up (radiotherapy has been mentioned).
Anyway, hubby says can they wont refund the monies and thinks I will be ok to travel anyhow. What are my options here seeing as I dont have insurance. Someone has told me if I get a doctors letter then the travel agent should refund? Is that right.
Btw. tickets havent been issued yet

The policy booklet and summary are available to view via the link you have posted. Re: PEMCs - insurers (and/or their medical screening agencies) will make decisions on a person by person basis.0 -

Good to hear that your doctor has declared you fit to travel.
You will need to shop around for insurance and expect some high loading if you have been in hospital as an in-patient recently.
PS: many insurers will not cover for depression.0 -
