  • We find Flexicover the best, not cheap but cheaper than most. It is three years since my husband had a mild heart attack and I have tried dozens of companies. You are on the phone for ages giving details then they either come up with a ridiculous sum or say sorry we cannot insure you. Flexicover dont mess around and always give you cover.
  • If anyone is looking for travel insurance to cover medical conditions try "The AA". I have just got a policy to cover my asthma and my partners diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol for £39.50. This is for 2 weeks to Koz!!! Hope this helps. :j

on this forum over a year ago i was recommended Ace travel insurance for those who have recovered from serious illnesses i.e cancer. Just wondering if this is still a decent reputable company, as my family member is not restricted medically to travel and is not awaiting any treatment or medication.

    thanks

After trawling the net I found cover for my husband's angina with the Post Office. He had a prolonged angina attack in April and was in hospital overnight. He had to have a medical screening and it is going to cost us £40 for the Post Office policy and £17 exta for a week in Spain next month. Thought this was reasonable.

We've had a good price from Columbus with pre-existing medical conditions although we are not quite your dad's age. Give them a ring on 0800 083 9503, they may be able to beat the PO.

Thanks for the advice regarding Columbus, booked Travel Insurance with them today, and as both my wife and I have medical problems and as we are aged 69 and 65 thought it would be difficult to obtain Annual Insurance. No problems, however, with Columbus, many thanks once again.

I, and a few others, have had good prices from Columbus, 0800 083 9503 (they work Sundays!). You could give them a try.

Cover for USA is always more expensive. Mine was Worldwide excluding USA and we got cover reduced from over £800 quoted by one company to £77 with Columbus, annual multi-trip including medical conditions being covered. Hope you are as lucky.
