Geordie - I haven't seen the market there for the last 2 years, has it gone completely or still there certain times?0

My Butlins confirmation came this morning, with the option to upgrade to silver self catering for £30 - might do it as it says I get toaster and microwave but not sure as £30 would pay for a meal out lol. I would pay extra to be nearer skyline but can't upgrade with this offer.
With the extras its a total of £94.80 which is a great bargain for butlins for Oct half term, they will have all the halloween extras going too.0 -
The doors by the outdoor pool do lead into the main pool area but to the spectators area so not sure if you can join the main poolfrom there or if you do need to go around through the changing rooms.

We should have a Butlins hints and tips thread!!
I cnanot think of any though. Dont eat before going on the rides would be a good one. :rotfl:
Also, do you really need to queue for Reds/Centre Stage 2 hours before it opens? I've seem people with deckachairs waiting to be at the front. Seriously, do you have nothing better to do? Are you that desperate to see that bloke from X-Factor who came 8th?0 -
Flo Flo, go to Gold on the day you arrive and ask them if they have any apartments left in Plantation Quay you can upgrade to. Deluxe is not near the Skyline either. Get there early - or go into the Booking Shop - as the accomodation would have been allocated already. If they have them ask for it specifically and you should get it.
They do have Silver Self Catering in Plantation Quay so call the number for the resort and speak to them and ask if they can allocate you to this area. Someone else got moved from there because we need the BB Parking.
One last thing, I do find it strange that BB parking is not available in every car park and only in the Gold Area. My son has a BB but does not need a specific apartment for someone with mobility problems but we could be parked one side of the resort and have accomdation in the other. And the Gold area is nowhere near most of the accomdations. Anyone else see the logic in that.? They told me it is first come first served everywhere else but we could park on the road if we wanted.0 -

Sad isnt it they started at 4.30 for the Xfactor night. Usual start is just after 6. We tend to go a bit early for a good seat but 2 hours  15 mins in annoying enough.

.
:rotfl: Glad it is not just me that thinks that. Last time there was a huge queue that formed well before opening times, I thought someone great was 'billed' and thought we had missed something. Maybe 'Take That' had popped in on the quiet. No, it was a magic show. A magic show!!
We have a fab place to stand - each time we have got there just as the entertainment starts and get the same place and have a great view. Sure I am going to eat my words after this, but do you really need to get there 2 hours before the doors open? I saw some people with flasks and eating food. I mean, really?0 -
Hi, never been to Butlins so can I ask if Plantation Quay is the best area to be in if you're in Silver accomm to be central to everything?? We took the upgrade on our Sun Hol (£22.50 for 2ad and 1 ch) and when I spoke to the girl at Butlins and explained I'll be 7 1/2 mths pregnant when we're there and taking a 1 year old she offered to put a request on for us for to be in a low floor and in Plantation Quay. No idea if they take any notice of requests! I'm sure she also said that if we wanted to pay an extra £10 she could guarantee our requests. Might it be worth it?0

Yes, I have had my little map and Plantation Quay is kind of set aside on it's own, it is near to Splash and the Skyline. From the look of my map it is the best place to be.
Floflo get in and confirm that now.
Yes, pay the £10 - it is worth it to make sure you get what you want. Some of them are 3 storeys buildings, imagine having to hoik a child and buggy up the stairs each time you go in and out.0 -

Thank you very much, only just read your post I will phone them tomorrow and upgrade to silver at plantation quay - they are usually super at granting requests - when we go half board I tell them the area, row and as near to a particular number chalet as possible lol.0
