Link to gold accom info:

I want to upgrade to gold self catering when my sun hol invoice comes.
I haven't eaten in the yacht club but enjoy the food in the normal dining room when we stay half board so I would think the yacht club is even better. Full English breakfast, kippers, fruit, toast & jam, hot drinks, fruit juice and dinner is usually several choices from full cooked roast to salad.0 -
thanks flo. do you know if you can park car near to the gold accomodation and do you know where it is on the site ?0

I'm not positive I think the self catering gold apartments are just to the right of the skyline as you go into butlins near the swimming pool. Not sure if this is the same for gold half board. When are you going?
Also on paidtoshop.co.uk a forum about shopping and tesco points has lots of people who go to butlins quite a bit. You could ask over there.0 -
hi, the gold half board is on the right as you go in the park next to the swimming pool and they have a allocated car park just for gold guests.

So are the half board gold different to the self catering gold accommodation?
If so what is the difference?0 -

the half board units do not have cookers in them, i used to work there for 10 years and am trying to remember the park layout
EDIT: AFAIK as you come into the resort in the first entrance, the first village is self catering, then you have the swimming pool, then all the single deckers after the swimming pool are half board units, just to the left of them there are then double decker units, all these are half board, then to the left of these is the restaurants, and then to the left of the restaurants all the accomodation is self catering, when i was there they did not class the accomodation as gold, silver etc, but i presume i would be right in guessing that gold is the new name for premier as it was known in my day, which if it is, are a block of about 10 units with patio doors and the like, to give that little bit more feeling of luxury, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -
We have just come back from Minehead...i'm sure the blocks with patio doors are delux as we stayed in one approx three years ago when we went half board for the first time....the food is a matter of taste and i'm afraid to say I would never go half board again, but saying that my dad loves the food (i couldn't get over kids eating ice-cream for breakfast and the free for all for toast in the morning).
We went gold this time (got a bargin 7 days for £374 in self catering gold apartment as we book whilst on the camp last year). The apartment was two story and near to the swimming pool and the little newsagent and yes there was a car park for gold apartments only.
We were quite amazed as we stayed in selfcatering standard at Skegness Butlins in March and the Gold apartment in Minehead was EXACTLY the same size/layout, except it had had a lick of paint to posh it up.
We noticed Butlins are getting more and more things that you have to pay for as well. At Minehead they now have ice skating at £5 for 1 hour and new Bumper boats at £5 for a boat.
However, we had a wonderful holiday and the kids want to go again so this says it all.0 -

as i said when i worked there, they did not have this silver/gold/deluxe in place, it was just budget/standard/premier, premier being the units i was talking about with patio doors, and i just presume that they would be what people were talking about being gold, as i had never seen anyone use the term deluxe b4, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -

Lol, I think its a slightly smaller site but pretty much exactly the same as Minehead - plenty to do on site little else nearby.
We had always gone to minehead as its nearer but last year OH kept on about going to Bognor so we did and he agreed its exectly same as Minehead just further away.:rotfl:0
