I am soooo jealous. Donkey and ducks! I want! He looks gorgeous. Are you going to get Ned a friend? They are very sociable and need company. I hope you enjoy having him. What age is he? Are the ducks laying?

Thanks wordsmith, Ned is gorgeous and really friendly, when Im in the stable he is always getting in the way and loves to be brushed, something really new to him. The man he came from has Parkinsons disease and couldnt manage him anymore, so thats how he came here. He is almost 4 yrs old, so only a baby really. He loves the kids too and as he is close to the house there is plenty going on and better than looking at just hedges. Im planning on another donkey maybe next year as we have another small paddock that needs re-seeding so hopefully there will be enough grazing for two then, plus DH will get used to the idea (which is already in my head and always was:rotfl:) My great aunt had beach donkeys for years and she passed away before xmas so I feel she would just love it that the kids have their own donk. As for the ducks they were born on the 1st April so Im not expecting eggs for a while yet.

DD was 18 yesterday I really cant believe where the years have gone! We had a nice day and spent the evening having a celebratory chinese with friends which was lovely. DS2 is off school at the mo with a nasty cough/cold thing. DS1 is already finished and is on his second week off. The bedroom is almost tidy and strimming has been done (he's a good egg).
All animals doing ok and ducks have settled in although its a chase to get them to go in the hut at night, still the exercise is doing me good;)
Debt wise not much to report except car need tyres again! as the main road has had roadworks on for so long now that everyone I talk to are having probs with tracking and tyres. Its due is DOE too and needs tax at the end of the month, handbrake cable is also dodgy and we need to leave it in gear, so more expense, but a necessary one living in bally go backwards.
Right off to do outside jobs while the sun is shining.

You had sunshine! Actually, as I started to type, I got sunshine too - at this time of day, it shines on my screen, which shows me how dusty it is, oops!

I have to confess I have lots of dust around here too but on the plus side have bleached the counter tops in the kitchen, so will look at the dust a wee bit longer maybe tomorrow I will be inspired to dust. It was sunshine and heavy showers today so I lit the stove when it looked bad and now its roasting in here!!

But a lit stove must be *so* nice - we had a Raeburn when I was a teenager, and even tho it was a faff, I loved it!

Ned is gorgeous, has he got any tack? Got a riding lesson on Tuesday, so I'll get my equine fix then.

Ned is gorgeous and noisy :rotfl:No he doesnt have any tack and has never been ridden, so we have a headcollar and a rope!!!!! next rime were at the market I'll invest in some bits and bobs, he does love the attention though brushing and fussing, so you never know whe may progress to a bridle and small saddle in the future.

Havent got much done today except uploading some pics for my sisters benefit, the internet has decided to go on a go-slow which hasnt helped.
DS2 has gone to a party and is now miraculously feeling better!! hmmm. dS1 watching top gear and DD is off for a night on the town with her mate following her 18th birthday on Wednesday (Im trying not to think too much about that) she is being picked up my her pals mum who we know very well and staying over at theirs so I trust all will be well.
Must fork out for new tyres tomorrow and the test will be next week sometime so fingers crossed. Have a good weekend all.

I've not got anything done either .... quite frustrating! But at least I don't have to worry about an 18 year old, eek - I'm sure all will be well. You have a good'un yourself.
