My first OCM try out tonight didn't quite go according to plan. I had to abandon the 'steaming' part of the routine mainly because the cloths that I have are too thin so don't hold the heat. They went cold within seconds of putting them onto my face... not ideal. I have some heavier flannels somewhere (Packed away ahead of me moving house again next weekend) which I'll try dig out... or I'll just buy a few new ones next time I am in town or a supermarket.
Anyway, I used my oil mix as just a massage on, wash off cleanser in the end and my skin does feel a little silkier... and not stripped of moisture. I'll see in the morning what it's like.
    :)

How's your skin looking today ALR? I'm finding I can't stop looking in the mirror to see if my skin is still looking good :rotfl:

It's looking and feeling no worse than normal which I'd say is a start. :D
Well I have to admit my skin felt lovely all of last night, today I didn't see much different to any other morning. However, I know it's only the first night and I didn't get to steam my skin and allow for the oil to have the most effect.
I've used the oil again tonight just as a cleanser. I wasn't able to find any of my flannels today so am going to go buy some more tomorrow and try the steaming part of the routine properly so hopefully the main difference will be seen on Monday morning and onwards from there.
    Will keep you posted :D

I steam my face over a bowl of boiling water with a towel over my head - love it, all that steamy heat makes the oil come off so well and, at the same time, opens the pores. The other night I 'double-tasked' and put some menthol crystals into the water and steamed my sinuses at the same time.

No need to faff on with flannels, make it easy on yourself.

Ooo yes thats a good idea, don't know why I didn't think of it... I had thought of a face sauna (My sis has one and when I am visiting her I use it all the time).
I don't have a big enough bowl but I could probably do the same sort of thing using the sink in the bathroom. I'll try it tonight :D

Right I managed to get some castor oil from Boots today (yay).
So I need to mix some stuff. How do you work out the percentages to physically mix the stuff? Sorry being dense here ;) What's a good mix to start with? I have combination skin with the T zone being more oily but my cheeks generally aren't that dry, more normal skin.

Please hope someone reads this before tonight as I really want to try it!!!!

    Hi BB

Your skin sounds very similar to mine and I put about 1/3rd caster oil to 2/rds sunflower oil to start. I may try just a little bit more caster oil as although my skin is looking good my forehead is still a little oily although no where near as bad as before.
