After my first attempt at breastfeeding in public, I think I'd like to get a shawl or something to make it easier. I'm going to Bros wedding in Sept, and it'll be an all day affair, mainly in a field, so nowhere private! Do I just get any old shawl? I'll be wearing white shoes, white trousers, a purple top and a white fascinator thingy. What colour shall would be good?

Are you guys all hiding inside because of the swine flu?
When I went to my cousin's wedding last year, the reception was in a field with a marquee. The cars were parked at one end and the marquee was abotu half way down so I just went to the car when I needed to feed Alice. (Was better for toilet/changing to do that too rather than attempt the portaloo.) Everyone seems to reckon shawls are good but Alice always pulled things off if I put them over her - I still have a job preventing her pulling my top right up.

Is swine flu a big thing now? I heard some debate on the radio this morning about whether pregnant women should be taking extra precautions and whther people should avoid getting pregnant because of swine flu. I'm too busy trying to sort the house out to be going out loads anyway.
Was talking to Mum about BLW, and she said she did that when we were little, but back then it was just called being lazy.

I actually got told off, publicly, in front of the other mums - for using fabric glue on the sequins last week! Bad mummy! The dancing principal Miss ***** was very serious about it! I thought the dance police were going to come and arrest me! I told her life's too short to be sewing on sequins! (Which she didn't find funny!) :rotfl:
She may have a point: if they're only glued on I suppose there is a risk of them coming off and then of someone slipping on loose sequins on the stage. However, if she didn't say there was a reason, that's not fair on you!

Last nights Liverpool comp. wasn't too bad - but last years included a team of infants from a Liverpool school, spray tanned, orange faces, blue eyeshadow and red lipstick. Dancing to Yellow-polka-dot bikini, wearing yellow polka-dot bikinis and part of the dance was a bit of chest shaking! OH found it very disturbing!
Me too, that's why I was happier with boys dancing than I would have been with girls ...

    Hi girls. Shiny new thread!

Don't think I'm going to be able to keep up with this thread any more but I'll try! Here's a link to a few pics of Alex, finally.

We're doing pretty well. He can sleep for 6-8 hour stretches (although not at night just yet) and generally feeds every 4 hours or so. BF is going well, although his latch on the left side isn't great as he's too lazy to open his mouth and then gets frustrated and shoves his fist in!

I've officially lost a stone from the day I had him, so just another one to go. Am hoping it will come off steadily while I'm BF.

Imogen is just sooo in love with him it's not true and she's being a really good girl. We've had a few broken nights with her, but not too bad. She's been good since my mum left on Saturday even though she's not getting quite as much attention as she would otherwise.

I feel half human this morning. THink my iron tablets are kicking in. Might even venture out to the post office this pm - only a 5 min stroll but more than I've been capable of for a week. DH is off for this week and next, then my mum's back for a week, so I should be on an even keel by then.

Sorry I haven't been able to catch up. Elle - hope Rhys is home and thriving?
