Hope your Gran is ok Caz.

Forgot to update about Craig's Gran. She had the lump taken out of her breast on Tuesday and they kept her in hospital overnight as a precaution. She's home now and supposed to be resting, but she's fiesty and independant so I bet she isn't! When Craig phoned her yesterday she was going crackers because his Grandad wouldn't let her cook and he was cooking potatoes in the microwave instead of the oven :rotfl:

She's got to go back and see the consultant next week and they're going to decide if she needs radiotherapy or not.
Here I go again on my own....

Caz and Beccles hope both your Grans are ok x

I feel like my face is going to explode today :( Oh well never mind just have to get on with it, Daniel and his daddy are snoring away in the other room and I just can't sleep with so much noise!!

Am missing my mum and dad, they have only gone away for a week, but I am normally round theirs a couple of times a week - can't wait until Sunday and then I can go see them - makes a change as a few years ago (when I still lived at home) I couldn't stand to be in the same house as them!

Looks like a trip to the big Tesco for me today - Tesco baby event is on and the prices look good to me! :D

Not quite such a good night last night - suspect it's because madam kept kicking her covers off and getting cold - tonight she's going in her sleeping bag again whether she likes it or not! *yawn*

At 11 we're going for coffee with one of our RL mummy friends so that'll be cool :) Nice to get out a little... :) We did manage to lure daddy down the allotment last night to do some weeding with us - which was nice :) Apparently I have an odd husband - he doesn't mind weeding down there because it's easy

I grant you - the thistles DO come up easily but there are SO many of them!!

oh before i forget we have an anniversary party tom night and it a case of bring a plate of food and a bottle, what would you bring?

Sorry to hear about your gran, hope she's ok.

If I was going to to the party I would bring vol u vants with chicken soup in them and a bottle of wine :T

I've done loads this morning, been up from 6 and downstairs from 7. We seem to be getting into a routine finally which includes dancing round the living room with Darach and the baby to the wiggle song on nick junior, thats 3 morning in a row now

Carla we waited 5 weeks but I think you wait longer with a CS. With Darch we waited 2 weeks :o

I've read back 7 pages and have forgotten most things I wanted to say.

I'll come to Coleraine as well MM & Carla its only a 2 and half hour drive :rotfl:

Have you tried the netmums MM, I think I will look it up myself as I would be interested on trying some groups, I've never really done that type of thing before.

Hope your feeling more cheerful Elle, concentrate on the positives, He is doing great and you have both come a very very long way, I remember reading about when he was only born and praying he would come through those first few days :T:T:T

Im going to to get my hair done this afternoon, I have dark roots almost touching my ears now :o. I look like a complete chav and im still in maternity clothes

I dont know whether to invest in some normal clothes or wait it out on losing some weight till I can get into my clothes again. There is a least a 2 inch gap between the button and hole in my jeans.

so, are you having it as pay instead of rolling the leave on til next year? :)

Elle, I have a question you might be able to help with....

Keeping in touch days, do I get paid a normal day's wage plus my SMP or does it get deducted from my SMP, in which case I should do all of them in the UNPAID part of my maternity leave?

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    oh 3, that's brilliant!

Depends on your company but the standard is that you get paid full pay ONLY - so yes - do them all in the unpaid part of your leave if you can :) You wouldn't get full pay AND SMP basically...

  • Just to make me feel really old there is a retro 90's nightclub in Wolverhampton which plays all the music that was around when I went to Uni :o

I remember them having 90s nights while I was at Uni in about 2002 . I was a )slightly) mature student so went around ffelinf ancient as it was. even without that!
    3onitsway wrote: »

And did the 90's have any music worth going back for?

Yes - Britpop, Right said Fred, Marilyn Manson, The Shamed/The Prodigy, and loads of grear rock/metal/industrial stuff too if you are into that kind of thing :)
BF / Weaning mummies - are you expressing to make baby rice / porridge etc?

I gave Benjamin a baby yoghurt this afternoon and he was so excited he finished it all and then ate a full portion of baby rice (20ml of mummy milk) - I think my boy is ready for weaning...I will still do BLW for one or two meals a day but it seems a shame when he gets so excited about a spoon to not give him other stuff too!!

Not sure what to do when I express now...do I need smaller portions of my milk to make food with? How do others go about it?

I expressed to start with, but when she started eating more I bought some formula - far less faffing about. We are still doing mostly spoon feeding, although she loves to held the spoon herself ;) I do make sure all her snacks are things she can pick up and [strike]throw on the floor again[/strike] eat herself. Plus I let her help herself from my plate too if I am eating something she can eat and she wants it! She wouldn't get enough into her if she didn't have things on a spoon too. I don't think it matters to do a bit of each :)

can i ask a question.....how long did you all leave it before, some, erm, "mummy and daddy time" after having your lo's!?? the feeling for me is most definitely there as i was denied it while pregnant.
was different with DD, as i was still very sore for a few weeks after, but this time round, no stitches, no grazes, boobies arent hurting anymore, and LOADS of "sexy hormones" going on. lol
and also - what contraception is everyone using? i obviously dont want to be pregnant again anyt time soon (or within the next 3-4 years for that matter) I cant do the pill, as my head is like a sieve.....
*just aswell i have had a drink, or no way wold i ask this question! lol*

7 months here - but then I did have all the stitches in the world. I have to say I don't mis it a bit. It takes all sorts and all that! Mind you, when things do recommence I will probably wonder how I managed ;).

right don't have time to catch up properly -will try later today.

3 - was it you looking for a sheepskin? Mothercare have them for pushchairs at £39.99 in their catalogue. A friend has one and her wee boy loves it.

pushchair addicts - I need your help. I need a folding pushchair for going on holiday that we can take on a plane and use when she's bigger. We already have a bugaboo cameleon so want something light and portable. No price limits until I see what I am getting for the prices! Can anyone recommend anything or make suggestions? Anyone use a quinny zap and would it fit the bill?

re: making friends. I have been to a few baby classes etc and have a few good friends now. I would say I have two best mummy friends now - one I met at baby class and after 8weeks plucked up the courage to ask her on a 'date' outwith class :rotfl: we know get on really well and although it was scary it was worth it. My other is from antenatal group. There is aquite a bunch of us that get on - but one is much more of a friend IYKWIM. I agree it is difficult especially as there are other things that can get in the way....for example there is one lady who is lovely, but she really really riles me as she is very competitive when it comes to the babies and I'm just not up for that so we don't spend much time in her company!

Off to jo Jingles at the seaside this morning....better dash. typically it is pouring with rain. better go brave that rain......
