so, are you having it as pay instead of rolling the leave on til next year? :)

Elle, I have a question you might be able to help with....

Keeping in touch days, do I get paid a normal day's wage plus my SMP or does it get deducted from my SMP, in which case I should do all of them in the UNPAID part of my maternity leave?

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    oh 3, that's brilliant!

Either your full wage or SMP...but if you have a nice employer like mine they might let you take your KIT days when is it best for [STRIKE]you [/STRIKE]the business and pay you for them once your SMP runs out ;)

oh before i forget we have an anniversary party tom night and it a case of bring a plate of food and a bottle, what would you bring?

I always have to take my 'special' potatoes - just new potatoes roasted (skins on) in a little olive oil and sea salt - everybody raves over them.
To me they are the lazy womans finger food!!

I would take as much as I intended to drink ;) I hate it when you say bring a bottle and people bring a bottle of wine and then proceed to drink 24 cans of lager

pushchair addicts - I need your help. I need a folding pushchair for going on holiday that we can take on a plane and use when she's bigger. We already have a bugaboo cameleon so want something light and portable. No price limits until I see what I am getting for the prices! Can anyone recommend anything or make suggestions? Anyone use a quinny zap and would it fit the bill?

Did you book somewhere MacSmiler? I sent off for Benjamins passport the other day in the vain hope that we can squeeze something in before hubbys next big project starts up :D

Can I ask why you don't want to take the bugaboo? Baby is likely to be spending a lot of time in the pushchair on hols so why not take the one you chose in the first place? The only time that you need it to travel is on the plane and you just leave it folded up at the bottom of the steps...I don't think that there is a size restriction.
Whatever you get I would consider buying a carry bag for it - otherwise you will be fuming if it gets thrown about and scratched/dirty by the airline baggage people.

Have you thought about a car-seat? Are you hiring a car (in which case I guess you hire the seats too?) or transferring by bus (a worry without a carseat) or even worse a taxi

I still won't take Benjamin in a taki here...I just don't trust them to drive my baby around - even if I fix his carseat in myself :o

right don't have time to catch up properly -will try later today.

3 - was it you looking for a sheepskin? Mothercare have them for pushchairs at £39.99 in their catalogue. A friend has one and her wee boy loves it.

I'm taking my P&T on hols, most other parents were taking the 'big' pram last time we went too - this was skiing though so we'll be pushing him through snow (hopefully!) and up n down mountains :D
If we were going to somewhere with no need to go all terrain I'd probably just take our normal buggy which is a cosatto diablo I love it as its suitable from birth it's a bit 'nicer' than the cheaper ones that are 6mths+
If going somewhere hot you need to consider how breathable the fabric is (or get a nice sheepskin ;)) and also I'd avoid black if possible that's one problem we have with ours is the sun heats up the black fabric

stick some garlic on those potatos and they'd be even scrummier ;)
Caz my first thought was potato salad - boiled new pots, mayo, chives, touch of crispy bacon. or as a bit of a cheat use half mayo half sour cream n chive dip ;)

Taxi's on holiday are a nightmare!! MIL booked a car seat for chris (he was 11mths) last time we went skiing, she confirmed it all with the company after the booking because I was paranoid and then when we arrived NO CAR SEAT
I've never held on to him so tight in all my life, my heart was in my mouth the whole journey and I just wanted to cry, I was convinced we were going to crash and go tumbling down a mountain :o
I'm a bit more relaxed now but still wondering about going in Jan because Ed will only be 6mths so I think I'll take our own with us and maybe a booster seat for chris
