advice welcomed please!
I know i need to introduce some solids from 6 months.
Also that it's dangerous to wean a child who can't sit unaided.
Hmmmmmn. Fergus seems really far from sitting unaided, and I 'should' wean in 3 weeks.
Any ideas on anything I can do to strengthen his sitting muscles?!:o:D
TIA
Weezl x
Have you got a Bumbo? They really seem to develop the childs desire to sit unaided (and probably the muscles too)
I think Caz cleared the weaning and sitting stuff up but I think it was me who introduced your confusion
I went to a BLW talk and said that I didn't believe in the mythical '6 months' and EVERY baby is ready nonsense! The physical factors which are needed for BLW is that baby can sit unaided, can pick up foods themselves and put them in their mouth, and they have lost the tongue-thrust reflex. All 3 of these things tend to happen together...and that is usually around the 6m mark.
You don't have to introduce solids until you feel that Fergie is ready - be that before or after 6m. As long as he is happy on just milk then keep him on just milk - food is faff!!!
Hope this helps / explains where the confusion aroseplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Thanks everyone, I am feeling much better now, especially since I have cleaned the house a little. Man clean and my clean are very different. DH is going to be left a list of what has to be done for us coming hime. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned since I did it! Fllor badly needs a mop and when was the last time it was hoovered? There are dead flies!!!:eek::eek:
Oh and I haven't used the stairs since teh c section, I went to the loo ands when I came back down, my legs were shaking! Must use the stairs at the hospital a couple times a day.
Do not hoover or mop!!
Seriously, it should be 6 weeks before you push a vacuum cleaner, a pram, or a shopping trolley. I was also told not to lift anything heavier than my baby for that time too.
Obviously you may sit and supervise your partner do itThe IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -

can't remember who posted the 2 dogs but they are lovely, is the pup a staffie to?
MFD well done on getting your tender done.
Elle all the best for tomoro, I'll be thinking of you.
MM Does Dylan have to go back and see the consultant or anything?
Tia Hope you have a lovely pampered nite at home and your refreshed for going back tomoro. I was also another one that hates the security doors, I know there, there for a good reason but when you've been woken at 2 in the morning to go down to neonatal and feed then don't get in when you get back it's a nightmare especially when you know you'll be woken again shortly to go back down and do the same all over again:mad:Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -

scruffy, Dylan needs checks for up to 2 years due to oxygen 'starvation' in the first 24 hours.
I say starvation, he wasnt starved of it, but thats what they call it when your saturation levels are not as high as they should be - in other words he didnt get enough !!
There is a possibility of something like Cerebal Palsy ( I cant spell)
1st appt through for 2nd September, see how we are doing then
