    advice welcomed please!

I know i need to introduce some solids from 6 months.

Also that it's dangerous to wean a child who can't sit unaided.

Hmmmmmn. Fergus seems really far from sitting unaided, and I 'should' wean in 3 weeks.

Any ideas on anything I can do to strengthen his sitting muscles?!:o:D

    TIA

    Weezl x

DS successfully managed sitting up unaided for any length of time on the same day as his 7 month check; I started Baby Led Weaning the next day.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.

Elle, I can bet you a pound to a penny your house is less of a state than mine :p

Tia big ((hugs)) for you and what a stoopid woman not to let you in! It's a real shame there can't be somewhere next to the babies for breastfeeding Mum's to stay when they're in special care, it would save all the faffing about... Hope she gets on the ward and you both get kicked out together quickly! (Will you be waking to express in the night or will you be making the most of a full nights sleep?)

Talking of sleep... My baby lulled me into a false sense of security by going a couple of weeks of 6/7 (and once 8) hours straight sleep... And is all of a sudden back on waking every 4hrs again... No fair :(
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

weezl - i think it's holding their head rather than sitting unaided. LO started some baby rice (4 1/2 months) before she could sit up (5 months) and I fed it to her in her bouncy chair. re: the right time to wean, I think it totally depends on the individual child - the same with babyled or puree/spoon feeding. Some babies like one way better or can deal with both ways. Go with what you and your baby are comfortable with - I'm discovering that that seems to be the trick with parenting ;)

honey - you sound like you are doing great :D

MFD - is it finished yet :rotfl: :D

everyone: sorry to those whose posts I have inadvertantly reported to abuse :D Ooooops

We had fun at the city farm. LO liked the goats and the hens, but seems to only be interested in animals that move around quite a bit - I'm not sure she can 'see' the ones lying quietly IYKWIM. We got rained on and the coffee shop wouldn't let us take our pushchairs inside even though there was tonnes of space so we had coffee outside regardless :rotfl: I finally felt I had graduated to true motherly status!!! quote from my mum on holiday when I was younger "I don't care if it's raining, it's our holiday and we WILL enjoy our picnic/BBQ/walk regardless of the pouring rain"

Annabel did that - for a month (at 3-4 months old) she slept through the night about 9 hours or so and then started waking 3-4 times a night again. However, as of 10 days/2 weeks ago we have her back through the night. I'm not sure if she 'just did it' again herself or whether I made a difference - I think what tipped the balance was me being very consistent with daytime naps - but then who knows. Annabel is a law unto herself and when I work her out I plan on writing a parenting bible and making many millions of pounds. Somehow I know that I'll never quite figure her out enough to do that

I think my husband would benefit from your Mum's words of wisdom... I made him go on the beach when we went to Liverpool and he did nothing but whinge the whole time... He just doesn't understand that when you're bought up land locked in the midlands, you take any opportunity to get near the sea... Whatever the weather!

    good luck tom elle!

Tia *hugs* i remember when lewis was under the lights and on the blanket, it was a horrible time and i really wanted to BF him, they bullied me all the time to stop as i wasnt making my baby better and he would get so much better if he took a bottle?? luckily he did get better quickly and was only in for 6 days. i hope amber is home with you soon and that you feel a lot better x

Have been out with OH and the little ones today and we all went for lunch! i seem to be loosing weight at long last and would love to get this wii fit on to see how much lol! have ordered a pedometer for me and one of the girls at work as we were joking about the miles we walk.
Am looking for ideas for packed lunches if anyone can point me in the right direction, the kids have asked for them as the school has the food transported in and they arent happy with it.

not been able to read back but hope you all ok x
