I know i need to introduce some solids from 6 months.

Also that it's dangerous to wean a child who can't sit unaided.
I've never heard that. Isn't the typical range for sitting up 5-9 months?

I couldn't comment on formula fed babies as I only read up about breastfed babies but I know that for breastfed babies you don't "need" to start weaning at 6 months. I do remember that the AAP say "about" six months and that this could be anything from 4 to 9 months but can't remember whether that was in relation to just breastfad or for either.
That article you posted feely, am I the only who thinks making a baby wait longer than 10months (unless there is medical issues) wrong? I remember at about 7/8 months, Keira was grabbing food off our plates and smooshing it as near to her mouth as she could. Seems a bit mean!
There's a difference between making a baby who needs it wait and allowing a baby who doesn't. We did BLW starting at 7 months and Alice only started actually consuming at ten months.

Rhys seems to be taking on board my threats to put his tube back in and has had all of the bottles he's supposed to plus some extra today - hurrah! Assuming no explosive nappies in the next 24hrs and we might have him up to 6lb for weigh in tomorrow! :D

Living room floor is covered with bags and baby kit to take - so much stuff for one night! Just finishing this feed then I can go pack up all the meds and milk :)

We went to see the models of the dinosaurs and I'd been teaching her the name of some of them while the boys were looking at archeology exhibits which she wasn't interested in. There was a lady standing looking and she went running over and said "oooh look Mammy, velociraptors". The lady's jaw hit the ground and we cracked up laughing at her face :o:rotfl:

I'm of the opinion that little children will just learn whatever you teach them. If they can learn all the farm animals and what sounds they make, I figure they should be able to learn other things but it's easy to just assume that things will be too difficult for them.
