Thanks to those who said it looks as if I'm doing ok with my baby, there is a lot of time with him just 'sitting there' but I guess he's looking around at things and that is entertaining enough for him at the moment, I just didn't want to feel like I'm neglecting him but with nearly 15 hours awake it's hard work!!

thats alot for anyone im just glad philips here all the time i did most of it on my own with zoe ... you feel they're looking at you going ... entertain me now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:x

    advice welcomed please!

I know i need to introduce some solids from 6 months.

Also that it's dangerous to wean a child who can't sit unaided.

Hmmmmmn. Fergus seems really far from sitting unaided, and I 'should' wean in 3 weeks.

Any ideas on anything I can do to strengthen his sitting muscles?!:o:D

    TIA

    Weezl x

It is safe as long as the baby can hold their head unaided. Some babies can't actually sit unaided till about 9mths so would be waiting until then if that was the case! Just make sure he is somewhere where his body is supported and feed away:) Kai has always been fed in his highchair...from the age of 15wks:p

He is fine just sitting there, and would let you know if he gets bored...also be aware babies can become over-stimulated...which can also make them grumpy/upset;) (well that was my excuse:whistle:)

    Well done Kai :T

Weezl El was weaned early and she just sat in her bouncer or most of the time on my knee.

Chris supports Liverpool, and we have flown over a couple of times but thats a very expensive date !!
The football ground here isnt that far from my house, but the local team are a bit crap !
He would go and have a game of snooker with my BIL once a month but its a bit of a man only pub they go to !
A lot of the pubs that do the quizes round here are very secular and we are a mixed relationship religion wise, so thats not very easy, and the next town over is student city because of the uni !!
This time of year everywhere is packed as I am right beside the coast, so all the tourists and their neighbours are at the places you could go to.
I had thought of doing a night class together, my mum could babysit, but neither of us want to do the same thing :)

I would love to do an extension to my house, but we have a cc and an overdraft to think of first !!

    Hi MM,

I know what your saying, me and Tom kind of got like that.... So we had a chat about it and we make sure we make time for each other! We now have at least one night a week where we do something together even if its just in the house when the kids are in bed, some weeks the kids stay at my mums. Our social life has been better than ever since Lexi was born! Here are some of the things we do that dont need to cost alot of money!

    Orange wednesday cinema night

Tom is a dmc dj so hes teaching me on the decks!

We used to go to this place when I was 17 he was 21 and have a little disposable bbq in the woods - we did it again a few weeks ago and it was so nice!

We both like to box so we bought a load of boxing equipment

Found some recipes we like and cooked together in the kitchen

Gone out for a drive to the woods / beach ;)

Indoor picnic with wine and huge rug and pillows on floor

We have nights where its 'all about Tom' We do whatever he fancies - I play on his ps3 and eat pizza :rotfl: But then I get him back with 'its all about nic' Night - I get massages and a foot rub while eating chocolates and drinking wine Listen to music all night ...you get the picture :o

Then there is the usual going for a meal or out to a few bars or a club.
Were going to creamfields at the end of the month and we are debating camping!
Were also thinking of getting rid of the home gym and joining David Lloyd

Dont know if any of that will help but hope it might inspire you a little xxx

Is it a back seat or front?

I was thinking only back ones were available, but then went to Amsterdam and there are people with children hanging off all corners of their bikes!
Been looking at the Bobike ones on ebay - they sit on the handlebars so are supposed to be more stable, but i'm not so sure!

I saw all that in Amsterdam 3, I found myself nearly dashing over to a woman who had a tiny baby sat on the front of a push bike somehow  I thought it was going to fall off poor mite

Well done Kai on the rolling over! WooHoo

MrsTine, Hope your having a better day today.

Sami, hope your appointment goes well.

I walked to asda earlier, Tom has taken Joshua to the cinema and we are going to go to Pizza Hut Later. But I took Lexi in her buggy part of her pram rather than her carrycot! First time she has been in it and she reallly wasnt too impressed I came home and rather than put my shopping away put the carrycot back onto the pram! :rotfl: Shes going to grow out of it soon though

Just wanted to post my doggies seeing as we are sharing - I :heart2: them!

That's brilliant, it would never occur to me to try spaghetti - might give it a go tomorrow!

Weezl, we had a game where Izzy sat on my knee, and I counted the seconds she was sitting up on her own for in a silly voice. When she toppled over I caught her and make a big "whoooops" noise, and then we started over again until we got bored! I'm sure sometimes she fell over deliberately, because she loves the whoops noise as much as the counting, but it was a great way to strengthen the muscles. Maybe a bumbo (or similar) might help too?

Oh, and honey, sounds like you are doing a great job. I think watching the world (and you!) go by, plus lots of silly songs and running commentaries is pleanty of stimulation for baby :) I find christmas songs are particularly good for putting different words to. Yesterday we had "the washing machine is very loud" to the tune of we wish you a merry christmas. This morning I was singing "mummys keys, mummys keys, yum yum yum yum yum" to the tune of Robin Hood. One day she will hear the real words to these songs, but for now mine will do!
