on the subject of why we chose our names:

Fergus: Because his nickname in utero was 'fergus the frugal foetus' and also is scots gaelic for 'splendid one'. Please feel free to correct that caz, r.mac and all our scots contingent!

I'd be interested in why others chose theirs too!

    Fergus the fruagl foetus! :rotfl::rotfl:

I have no idea how we came to Violet.

My sister was randomly texting me names from the moment we found out we were expecting. Violet was one of them........and we both said, Ewww, I don't like that! It must have grown on us!

OH's first choice was Sam(antha), and mine was Edie....... and until she was here, she was going to be one of, or a combination of both.

    Hi

We went and got Kai weighed at 10.30 this morning and then went for a picnic at the park opposite, we have all had a wonderful day. got 20mins before monkey's next feed so will have a quick catch up:)

Kai now weighs 14lb 15oz, he seems to have settled along a line on the chart and the HV didn't seem worried at all, just said he will be like his dad and brothers, tall and slim;)

Aimee was going to be called Catherine originally but my Nan told me she would shorten it to Cath which I didn't like... Aimee was a name my sister had suggested and was on my maybe list... Also, her middle name is Iris, after said Nan... And when I told Nan I was going to give her Iris as a middle name her response was... "I always liked Lily" She's well known for putting her mouth in gear before engaging her brain in our family!

Caitlyn was the only name Hubby and I could agree on for a girl (He liked Nikita, I thought it sounded like a p0rn star) and she was originally going to be Caitlyn Mae... But at christmas my Aunt who is my very bestest friend in the whole world got diagnosed with breast cancer... So we decided then that if we had a girl she would have her name as a middle name, that's why she's Caitlyn Ruth....

Funny thing was, we had Caitlyn picked out really early on, we never waivered on it... Whereas we didn't have a boys name picked until I was about 4 days over due...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Isabella I've just always liked, and Molly was DH's Great Aunty, who died just before we were married. She was a maiden aunt, but not for lack of trying as far as we could tell, she had some great stories!

If we had a boy then DH wanted to name baby after his best friend who died when we were younger, so for a girl I got to pick (with his veto of course!), so when we get to number 2 he gets to pick whatever flavour we have.
    :heart:Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009:heart:

    Its does sound familiar

Bruno: there is another Elijah Derek on google videos http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1300115971845143348

Christopher Matthew: C because we like it, M is OH's name
Edgar Samuel: E because we like it and the place we heard it was on Deadliest Catch tv show. S because it was the ONLY other name we could both agree on, I wanted Aled or William.
I also quite like that Chris has OH's middle name and Ed kinda has mine :D

Luca - was going to be Neo or Luca most of the way through the pregnancy or Lucia for a girl...We only decided once he was born:) (Neo from the Matrix)

Jaden - we didn't really pick any names out until after the 20wk scan...then we had the amnio and found out the sex. We decided on Jaden a few days later, after watching an episode of star trek, where one of the characters was called Jaden

Kai - We couldn't think of any names we liked, but then dh came up with Isaac (Isaac Newton) and we sort of settled on that until nearer the end of the pregnancy, when I remembered I liked the name Kai from hearing it years before. So again we waited till he was born and decided on Kai when we saw him.

I am keeping Isaac in mind, but also like Finley, Logan and Riley for the next one;)

Oh yeah - The two older ones have Paul as middle name, baby has Thomas.

I'm liking the reasons for the names.... more please:T:T:T:T

Well, I'm going to have a treat now... DH is coming home in 10 mins and I get a nap :)

He is taking a days worth of annual leave as 4 days of coming home at 3 instead of 5 (IYSWIM?)

I have been feeling a bit tired and run down, so this seemed like a good solution :o

    night night :)
