    Oh got another quick Q

Is there such a thing as being immune or passing your immunity of chickenpox onto your kids? Keira has been around loads of kids that have developed chickenpox, and I'm sure they are infectious right before the spots pop up too.

She was kissing, hugging and sharing dummys with my Uncles son, and the next day he had the chickenpox, yet she never got them at all? Just made me wonder.

Also, since I've got the HV for her needles in an hour, I'll ask them but, when she was little she had a little freckle on her boob, well above it, but it's gotten loads bigger since then, I'm not sure if it's grown because she has, or if it's going to be like OH's massive mole/freckle thing he has on his butt!
I'm not sure if you could get such a thing removed incase it DOES end up like that? I know fine she'd want it removed when she was older, because it would probably be quite unsightly with vest tops etc.

I remember when I left primary school, my sister started at P1 at the same time. When I left school dinner tickets were 95p, when she left they were something ridiculous like £1.55.

Anyone got a little one at primary who buys school dinners? I'm curious to know what they are charging nowadays.

    .

£2.80 a day here . And they have the choice between hot dinner, jacket spud or sandwich. She went on hot dinners for a while, but every day had a cheese sandwich (half) and an apple! So she's been on packed lunches for the last year and a half.

thanks 3 so does he have his 3 meals and how many snacks/meals inbetween?
am going to get some shopping later so would like to work in a few more snacks etc. the only thing he refuses to eat is raisins lol!
right am off to buy school shoes eventually as the two babies are in bed sleeping!

He does, but won't eat first thing in the morning, so makes toast in the classroom when he gets to school! (His school is brilliant - they do a lot of independant living skills, so making a cup of tea and toast are all part of the lessons!).
Luckily he loves fruit and veg. After a big shop I have to hide the fresh fruit/veg in various hiding places around the house - or he'd eat the lot! :rotfl:
I do sometimes think he's a bottomless pit - if I ate as much as he'd like to, i'd be about 25 stone!
So he does eat/snack a lot - but mostly healthy stuff except when Mum/MIL are involved and stuff him full of e numbers , then go home and leave me to deal with the aftermath!

    hi button,

yes but only up to 7 days old, so not true for Keira!

Here's what the royal college of Obstetrics and gynaecology says:

If your newborn baby has come into contact with chickenpox in the first 7 days of life and you are immune, then the baby will be protected by your immunity and there is nothing to worry about.

Impressive! I'd assumed Bruno wasn't your real name! :o

Elijah always makes me think of Elijah Blue! Does he have a middle name?

We love bananas too - but when she had her first one, it make for interesting poo!

He does, but it's just Derek after his grandad on OH's side. Not a name I would've actively chosen otherwise but it's fine :)

they're only bad for Rhys with his kidney problem not all babies ;)

Whew! Sorry Elle, glad Elijah doesn't have to worry on that one though.
  • BM - I think that they get some of your immunity in the milk while you are BF, but I'm not sure if the immunity continues forever? Someone else will pobably be along in a bit who knows things though :)

Our washing machine has been playing silly b00gers so I called up this morning to get a man out, and they've had a cancellation, so he is coming this afternoon. Which is just as well really, seeing as we have a full basket for us, a full basket for baby, plus I can't remember how long it is since I last did our sheets :o.

Anyway, best crack on. Even if I can't get the washing on, I should really finish unpacking by the time DH gets home, if I am allowed. I got distracted trying to get Izzy to crawl round the floor after my phone and now I don't know where she has put it. Might have to call myself and work it out. I gave her the house phone to play with earlier, and she called my Mum - will stick to my mobile - at least that locks!

on the subject of why we chose our names:

Jonathan: after the lead character ( a mystical anglo-catholic monk!) in the book that me and OH were reading at bedtime.

Am I the only mummy who has a bedtime story, but her baby doesn't get one? :o

Fergus: Because his nickname in utero was 'fergus the frugal foetus' and also is scots gaelic for 'splendid one'. Please feel free to correct that caz, r.mac and all our scots contingent!

William: because my lovely grannie died a month before he came, and that was the name of her husband.

I'd be interested in why others chose theirs too!

There's info on codeine and breastfeeding here: http://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/pdfs/Analgesics_and_Breastfeeding_March_2009.pdf If you've had it and everything was fine at the time then there's nothing to worry about. Just some babies have had reactions...

On the whole imaginary brothers thing... Aimee had many imagination friends and sisters at one point... But she also has a real life brother she's never met... When the moron that knocked me up took an interest in her for 5 mins (He visited a whole 4 times between christmas and her 3rd Birthday the following March!) he kept going on about taking her to see his older son (who he's always had contact with... Ho Hum..) and for a long time afterwards she was obsessed with this older brother she has... He gets mentioned occaisionally now but it's a bit embarrasing when people are talking to her about her baby sister and she tells them she has a brother too... I don't really want to go relaying the family tree to all and sundry!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
