When I said night feeds, I meant the last one before bed.. Please God lets not talk about the concept of sleepless nights going on more than another few months! ;)

He is sleeping from 7pm til 4.30am
Wow that is good going. You could just try giving him water if you don't think he's hungry as he'll soon realise it's not worth waking for IYSWIM

Violet is waking around 6.30-7am (from 7.30-8pm) and its so much easier to get her into bed and give her boobie than it would be to go downstairs and make a bottle!

My thinking is, that if she's not having boobie much during the day, I won't make milk so therefore won't have milk for morning boobie (over time).

(I really should have expressed Thursday night/Friday morning when she was at Mums to trick me into thinking I needed to make milk!)

  • Hi,

I had no plans for how long I'd bf for (didn't expect to be able to do it tbh).

And here I am with 28 month old who has a feed morning and night.

Most people think I'm making a rod for my back as she is in our room and climbs into our bed in the morning to feed/co-sleep.

I don't get asked anymore when I'll stop as they assume I already have so they are quite shocked when they find out we're still going.

    Morning all

Daniel is off to the doctors later for 16week jabs. Thank god it's the last ones for quite a while, I hate to see him in pain.

DH has man flu! He is feeling sorry for himself and is incapable of helping me, which is fine as I can do it better myself.

Must dash little one is waking up and needs feeding not surprised after a 9hr sleep.

Aww the 16wks ones are the worst, I'm considering requesting/demanding they seperate them because Ed was really sick from the pnuemonia one in the 1st ones :(

Ed slept 2230 - 0300 and 0320 - 0600 now he's asleep again until 8ish when Chris will no doubt come bounding in twittering away and or poke poor Ed.
Not sure what got into hubby but he did Ed's nappy at 6am
my left boob is really sore as it was yesterday morning, I think I've been sleeping on it, feels bruised

Oh no looks like I'll be in for a fun afternoon then!

Poor boobie hope it feels better soon (that sounds really wrong!;))

Daniel has had his 8oz bottle and is now asleep on the sofa I would
pit him back to bed but DH has only just gone back upstairs after being downstairs for most of the night so that I got some sleep. But he'll have to go up in a bit I need to wash my hair, it feels like it might walk off my head if I don't!

OMG - It is 07.28 and the older two haven't come down yet!!!!!! I can't remember the last time they weren't down here chewing my ear off at exactly 7am:)

I am tempted to go and check they are OK, but if I do that I will probably wake them:rolleyes:

Kai was a bugalugs(his new name) last night woke up about 3-4 times:(

Can I ask how long everyone plans to BF? Or what you have done in the past...

The question is starting to bug me...I don't want to stop and the thought of saying no to my little boy makes me want to cry....but I don't want to be feeding a walking, talking toddler either. I'm just not progressive enough for that :(
I'm still breastfeeding Alice but when she started seeming less bothered about the mid-morning and mid-afternoon feeds (i.e. feed for 2 minutes, go off to play for a while then come back and start again) I replaced them with a drink and a snack. I don't think I'd really thought much about feeding a walking talking toddler really - I just wanted to feed as long as she wanted and she turned into a walking talking toddler so gradually that it hasn't really been a big thing. (Not saying you should feed a walking talking toddler if you don't want to but just pointing out that when it comes to it, it's not necessarily as big a thing as you think.)

I could quite happily do the first thing and/or last thing feeds for another 6 months.......but is that possible? Would you still produce enough milk?

    Has anyone done it?
We've been on just the morning and bedtime feeds since about April-ish and it doesn't seem to have cause problems supplywise - your supply adjusts to demand so if only two feeds a day are demanded then your supply adjusts to meet those two feeds.
