    oh remembered
MM: hope Dylan gets well again soon! xxx

MFD: my mum is always having a dig about how I don't wrap up the boys warm enough, she's always trying to but an extra layer on or sticking a blanket over one of them. Now Chris is old enough he's only ever complains to me that he's too hot never cold

Well Chris is staying at IL's tonight and they're hoping to go to the safari park 2mo, I kinda wish I was going too

No idea if it'll work, chopsticks, but could you put the top you've been wearing today in your LOs moses basket so it smells of you..

Please note that I have learned enough from you not to comment on the contents of the bottle...merely that bottles were present ;)

At least one of them had a carton on the table though ;) I think she was a secret breastfeeder ;)

    Fair dos ;):D

I'm not sure if I'm going to reach a point where I'm comfortable feeding in public. Not from a flashing my boobs point of view, more from the frustration of Rhys faffing about. When he gets there, he's good at it - it's just the getting him there that's the problem! It's much easier, at the moment, to give him a bottle to make sure we get the milk into him.

Chopsticks - this is perhaps not very helpful but what you are going through is perfectly normal. Their pooing habits slow down and occasionally they just want to feed and have a cuddle.

Keep an eye on her temperature and how sick she is. Don't forget that she needs to replace the fluids that she is losing.

If you get worried don't hesitate to call NHS Direct or go to the hospital if you think she is really ill. Better safe than sorry.

No, it is helpful, and I appreciate you replying to me.

From what everyone has said on here, I don't think she is ill (don't worry, I won't sue you if she is :D). Her skin isn't hot to touch, but I have got a thermometer so if I think she's getting warmer, I'll check her temperature and I'll also call NHS Direct.

It probably is just a growth spurt and she wants lots of cuddles.

Her poos haven't slowed down, most of her nappies are still dirty (they have been since day 1) but it's just that she seems to have to put in loads more effort to get the poo out (sorry, TMI :o)

Yep, the poo is identical to every other day. It's not at all dry.

Hopefully it is just a growth spurt then.

I just tried to put her down in her moses basket while I poured out the water for her bottle and she lasted about 1 minute before she woke up and started crying.

I picked her up and now she's dozing in my arms again. I think I'm going to be for a long night. I can't sleep whilst holding her as I'm too scared I'll suffocate her.

Wrap her in a blanket and when you put her down lay her on the blanket that you have been holding her in IYSWIM - so it is warm for her.

It might be worth trying a little bit of gripe water - it's a bit like marmite though! It's also quite funny to try and get some in their mouth without chucking it everywhere!!

I love my DH, he's got me an iPhone! Only because I keep taking his! Have been trying to find a case but can't see any I like.

Well last nights trip to the new local Chinese buffet was a disaster. They had no vegetarian options so I was left with chips, noodles and spring rolls! Shall not be going there again!

We had a family trip to the Trafford centre today and while we were there Daniel had a little accident poop was everywhere and I had forgot to put a spare set of clothes in his changing bag so we had to buy a new outfit. DH said "any excuse":rotfl:

For the past two nights Daniel has gone in his crib awake and has nodded off on his own, I am so proud of him! Although he was at right angles in the crib so have had to adjust him, but he didn't wake up so hopefully I should get anther good nights sleep.

Off to the lakes tomorrow if the weather stays nice:A

Do you warm the basket before you put her down? often its just the sudden coldness that wakes them, try wrapping a sheet around her while you cuddle then put her down with the sheet so its warm IYSWIM or you can put a hot water bottle in there but make sure you remove it, never put her in with it still in there :)

oh and my advice is never try gripe water while alone, in some babies (like my youngest) it just makes them throw up so best to have a helper around or give it to her and then saty in the kitchen/bathroom/somewhere with a moppable floor and a sink for a while afterwards

Beth seems to be knocked out for the rest of the day just sleeping. Glad to hear he is under control now, must be awful as an adult with driving and everything. The nurses have stressed how important it is to let her live her life and not to wrap her up in cotton wool, the only things she isnt to do alone at the minute is have a bath ( if we are in the house its ok) go swimming or ride a bike. (oh bikes are soooo uncool for a teenage girl- apparently :))
Yeh, the not driving for twelve months is a bit of a nightmare. He hates having to rely on people to take him places.

I hope Beth's is brought under control soon. Glad to hear she's not fussed about not riding a bike :D

Ooh, yep I can, good suggestion. Thank you :)

Would you lie her on it or roll it up next to her?

Great minds think alike with you two!

I'm a terrible mummy and never even considered warming the basket (and this is from the girl who hates getting into a cold bed!), so I'll wrap her in a sheet. She likes being swaddled, so that would perhaps work.

Administering gripe water sounds like a nightmare from what you've both said, so I think I'll try to not give it tonight and then see how she is tomorrow.
