Buttonmoons wrote: »Well last night she had farted or something and a bit of poo came out, and went on her trousers, just like a skidmark though, then this morning when she woke up, there was a skidmark in her nappy and a bit of poo between her bum, the last time was a full on poo in her pants, she has been V constipated though, we've been back and forth to the toilet all day, and as soon as I'm out the room she does it.
Hopefully once she's all cleared out, we'll get a good routine going, she's not asking for nappys to poo in anymore so thats something. She also said sorry for poo'ing in her pants, bless, she didn't need to do that.
Ah right...So she can do a poo then? I was just thinking about it a bit (I know, i'm weird) anyway, I was just thinking that if she is not managing a poo at all, it might be that her bowels are too full/hard and is what happens is you get a kind of runny overspill! I was going to suggest taking her the docs...although if it carries on then I would probably take her anyway....Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

BA in Business Studies. I've enjoyed it so much, I'm going to really miss it next year and was wondering about doing another one :rotfl:
Bob used to have free run of the house on a night, but when Charlotte went into a bed, I started leaving our bedroom door open so we can hear if she gets up in the night. However Bob kept coming in and sleeping on our bedroom floor and I got fed up with falling over him if I got up for a wee, and hubby kept falling over him as he gets up early morning to go to work. The final straw came when I got up one night with indigestion, so I came and sat downstairs until it had settled. As I was going to get back into bed, I put my foot on the dog. He stood up and catapulted me on top of hubby and I got the giggles and woke up him up:rotfl:
We started shutting Bob in the utility room on a night to stop him coming in our room. It was just by chance he was in the hall this morning as the alarm didn't go off after the power cut, so hubby rushed out late for work and forgot to shut him back in the utility room. Here I go again on my own....0 -

There is something on my mind and I need you lot to give me a bit of perspective
We started Baby Bop last week and really enjoyed it (apart from the fact that it was a bit baby-signing oriented when I am not a fan of baby-signing but that is another discussion...)
One of the songs we did was 'If you're happy and you know it' which is fine...apart from the fact that the second verse had been changed to:
'If you're angry and you know it stamp your feet' - with angry faces and stamping motions to go along with it.
Now I know Benjamin is only 20 weeks but I am not sure that I want my child to be taught to stamp his feet when he is angry
They also do 'if you're sad and you know it have a cry' which I didn't like much either...
So - am I being ridiculous or do you think I should say something? The lady who takes the class had removed 'the grand old duke of york' from the class at the request of one of the other ladies (who was unable to do the actions with her child) so I don't think it would be a major issue to not do it...but do I really want to make a fuss?
For what it is worth, last week I just kept singing 'happy and you know it' to Benjamin so I guess I could just keep on doing that....but it seems a bit cowardly not to say anything if I feel that strongly about it...
Hope somebody understands what I am waffling about and why it is playing on my mind
Edit - the woman who does the class is much more touchy-feely than me so I think she may understand what I am talking about...maybe....please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I've been trying to catch up but haven;t got time, I need some help please ladies.
As you know, Lilia and I have thrush. She is 13 days old today and we have been taking the treatements (Daktarin gel for her, clotrimazole for me) for seven days now and I can;t see any real improvement.
We rub teh gel on the spots on the top of her mouth four times a day, and I put my cream on my nipples after every feed and sometimes at other times too, like if I manage to have a bath.
Does anyone know how long it takes to show improvement? the Gp said to use it for up to two weeks, but I thought I'd be seeing changes by now and am disheartened we are not.
Lilia is also strugglng to sleep which may be related or may not. Any tips on how to get her to go off when she is obviously exhausted but for some reason fights it?
I find she goes to sleep in our arms but then wakes when we put her down, but we cannot sleep sitting up!
We are both exhausted and I am becoming scared to try and lie down for a sleep as every time i do she wakes and needs me to feed her so I only get 10 mins at a time.
When does all this get better? I am beginning to lose it cos of being so sleep-deprived and am petrified of being left in the house alone with her in case she cries
WE had some cranial sacrotherapy today which I'm hoping will make a difference - apparently her diaphragm and neck were tight which might explain the diffiuclty pooing and the reluctance to lie on her back.
But she has still had a crying fit since, and is now refusing to go to sleep despite being sooo sleeeepy.

OH yeah she can have one, but this is the longest she has went without going, and I think it's because I took the pullups away so she has HAD to go to the loo, maybe just been holding it in in protest! Her diet isn't that great as she is fussy, so she has always been a kid that goes every 2/3 days and has a few, rather than 1 a day!
She got a bit out though, so I'm sure the rest will push on down :rotfl: she's been getting pure OJ and I'm away to give her a cheese sandwich for lunch, lets see if this menace will munch it.0 -
Hi Skinty
Can't help with the thrush but someone will be here soon.
All the other stuff is PERFECTLY normal!
Babycentre says that there is a reason that babies start to smile at about a month or so old because that is when mum and dad have really reached the end of their tether
Do you feed laying down? It was the best thing for me...then when Benjamin fell asleep I could scoot away a little and wait til he was sound asleep before moving him.
Also - make sure you don't put her from your warm arms to somewhere cold - you can hold her in a blanket and put her down on that. Or if you feed her on a pillow (I found a normal feather pillow best...or sometimes even 2) then just scoot the pillow onto the sofa or bed or even the floor and leave her to sleep there for a while to give you a rest.
And do try to make time for a bath...I know it is hard especially if baby screams for daddy (also common at this stage) but he is a grown man - he can cope for 20 minutes
Edit - not sure if I pointed it out but don't be afraid to feed her to sleep. And have you tried swaddling? They get a bit scared of their limbs and wake themselves up sometimes.
And there is always the pram or the carplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

I don;t know how to feed lying down. When I have tried my arm has gone dead and I've had to loom over her like I'm doing push ups. Obviusly not doing it right!
Is it OK to go on a pillow?i though they weren;t allowed on pillows or duvets.
We put her to sleep wrapped in a swaddle blanket but the crib might be cold I guess although she is happier in her carrycot then in her co-sleep crib. which is quite big and maybe too big? I surrund her with rolled up blankets to make the space smaller bu one side opens onto me IYSWIM?
She is now asleep in daddy's arms but last fed at 12.50 so quite likely to wake up any minute for another one so I daren;t go and lie down even though I am exhausted. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
