Still no sign of a poopy here, but she has been trumping like mad, so hopefully it's gonna make an appearance. I speak about poop way too much!
I have serious spots on my face right now, not sure if it's because it's time of the month or if that stupid implant in my arm is giving me acne again! I've ran out of pills, so perhaps.....even once the spots go, my skin still isn't smooth IYGWIM? I have like under the skin whiteheads or something? God knows, think I'm going to get that implant taken out anyways, sick of waking up with milk on my pyjamas! Swear to god the kitten can smell it because he's always trying to paw his way under my nightie!!! Then starts plucking and molesting me with his tongue. Creepy!
My mum and sisters are away to come down, wonder if I can bribe them to do my mountain of dishes......that really is the WORST chore, I'd rather iron for 3hours than wash a plate.0 -

*knock knock*
Can I come in?
I thought I really ought to leave the Pg thread now that Lilia is 12 days old, and come in here instead.
Feels a bit like starting a new school! :rotfl:
I have posted my birth story on the BS thread if anyone wants to read it, but basically Lilia was born on July 22 at 1.10am at home as planned, weighing 6lbs 3oz. I used gas and air (when the MW eventually fetched it!) and had five hours and 20 minutes of established labour, with a further 20 minutes of pushing, so pretty quick for a first-timer.
THese first days have been a whirlwind of nappies (sadly Lilia is too small for our washables so we are in Pampers newborn size 1 and they are still too big!), feeding and sleeping.
Luckily not too much crying although we've had a few rough nights/days where she won;t settle - we think cos of growth spurts. Mostly she is an angel though, just so peaceful and lovely.
I am breastfeeding on demand (baby-led) but it's been a rough ride so far. First my nipples got cracked, then I couldn;t latch her on properly, then when that was sorted I got thrush! We are now on day 6 of our treatments (cream for both of us) and it's much less painful although the thrush is hanging in there at the moment. I was very thrushy during pregnancy so it's not a total surprise, just a pain in all senses and I'm annoyed the MWs didn;t pick it up - I had to tell them that I had it after googling!
We are co-sleeping, sometimes she goes in her co-sleep crib and sometimes in bed next to me, depending on how clingy she is that day. We always rock her to sleep on us at the moment but I know I'll need to change that soon or we will have a nightmare later on - hints and tips gratefully received.
Thankfully she sleeps at night and wakes up for one or two night feeds only, just goes straight back to sleep, so OH is getting aroun 5 or 6 hours straight of sleep which means he can function in the day and do the housework while I sleep and chill.
He has been brilliant - so amazing. I've not done any housework really at all, and he has been so supportive. We;re lucky he gets a month off (two weeks' paternity and two annual leave) so hopefully by the time he goes back to work in just over a fortnight I will be able to cope.
I find her crying very hard, and the demand feeding can get too much, so I'm concerned about PND (history of depression personally, family history of PND) and you may find me moaning on here a lot as I have no family nearby and my friends all work so I basically have no support network.
Still, things are pretty good, and if I can just find some nursing bras that fit me without having to go to a shop (Figleaves don;t seem to do what I need, 36F, in cheaper, soft and comfy bras) then I'll be a happy lady!
This is a long post i guess but wanted to introduce myself properly and not assume people know me from the PG thread.

Hi Skint
I'd really advise you to have the nursing bra fitted in a shop - sorry! If you already have thrush then having a bra that doesn't fit properly combined will increase your chances of getting mastitis (trust me... you do NOT want that! Just ask Mrs Moc who's suffering at the moment!) - it's worth spending money on this and getting a bra that is comfy and properly supportingI actually found only one brand that that fits my shape comfortably so I personally would only buy online if it was that brand now I know they fit properly
The thrush is painful but it will get better with time once the creams start working properly - mine seemed to go very quickly from Alexandras mouth once we started treatment, my nipples took a bit longer but still improved significantly quite quickly.

Hiya Skinty!!
Welcome to the other side
I have yet to hear of breastfeeding which isn't 'on demand' or of a mother who doesn't think that it is hard workJust remember when you are sat feeding all evening at 5 or 6 weeks (or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10
) and you are drained and tired and tears are so-so close that we have all been there and we have all gotten through it!
Benjamin is 20 weeks now and BF much less often and not for very long at each sitting and I miss my baby boy
Enjoy Lillia - they grow up so quickly
And I wouldn't worry about rocking her to sleep and not putting her back in her own bed just yet. 'They' say that the earliest time to be thinking about a routine is 6 weeks
