The same here...but it is not the kind of word that you want your 9 year old saying to their teacher IYSWIM.
Don't get me wrong - I say it all the time (although not in front of the kids) but I wouldn't expect a 9 year old to say it.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Sorry Elle, I thought it was Rhys who had bad jaundice. Maybe he did and he just wasn't orange
:o:o uhm... pregnancy brain? :rotfl:
Buttonmoons, I did the NC biomedical last year, which was access to nursing. I don't work and DH makes over £15'000 but I still got a bursary and full childcare costs for the 3 college days for both they boys. (they also paid for the other 2 days for DS2 due to his disability, putting it down to respite for me) Was a great course, Biology, Chemistry, higher human biology, math and your core skills. Loved it. Get my high results on Wednesday! More or less everyone qualifies for a bursary, one of the girls (alright the only othe rmarried one) husband makes 40K and she got a bursary. Go for it, I loved it!!! And can't wait for Sept 2010 so I can do my HNC
Is that what the access to nursing modules are? I only had a quick glancebut it is what I've always wanted to do. They make you do an interview before you are accepted and they want personal experience etc well it's not essential but I'm assuming they'd like it, hope I get in. I looked after my disabled aunt if that's anything? I pushed a baby out of my vagina too (though not at the same time
)
Ah thats great to know, I was worrying I'd struggle for money!! OH made 26k last year, his wage isn't supposed to really be that high, but the company give production bonuses/safety bonuses plus all the overtime he HAD, none of that now because of the stupid credit crunch, we are down £300 a month  Poor cats are on Tesco's brand food most of the time unless I see a bargain, then they get treated
I did a college course when I was 16 or 17? One of them lol, and a lot of the nursing modules like Healthy & safety, mental health, First aid etc, I already have the qualification saying I've passed those, so that should go in my favour, I mean they accepted my sisters dizty friend into the september intake. I'll just wear my specs and look extra smart!0 -

Oh, OK, I don't see it as a bad word at all, but then I'm dead common me
Now if the kids told the teacher that they were scundered then I would be cross, cuz thats another way to say !!!!!! off !!The two best things I have done with my life

STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!0 -
Button, I don't know. They offered two, access to healthcare (which actually gets you no CATCH points) and the boimed. I chose Biomed as it's more the science I want to do, rather than the nursing.
Just watch with what course as CATCH have suddenly gotten very picky as to what they want and a lot of the old access courses no longer get you into a nursing degree course. (all nursing is going degree as of this year I think).0 -

MFD - I am soooo sorry to hear that Benjamin isn't well. Sending you all our love and hugs. Get better soon Benjamin.
After some good nights sleep/settling wise, i feel i'm back at square one. I currently have my little girl sat on my bed with me looking at the laptop and i have nursery rhymes playing!!!!! unbelievable.
She is on domperidone to help empty her stomach so she feeds better, but after a change in the first couple of days, i can't see that it has improved much now.
Actually i now think she is looking at the telly.
I would try and get her to go to sleep again, but i can't face seeing her fight at the moment. SHe screams so much. I am trying to avoid her associating sleep with negative things (plus i'm scared she hates me)
Off to read the pages back xxx
Oh sweetie - have been meaning to text and tell you how wonderful you are but things kind of overtook meBenjamin threw up spectacularly on his new vest though
Does she have a 'thing' a comforter, toy, anything that she likes to hold on to?
Benjamin has his elephant and I went and bought another today because he won't sleep without it...I may well go back and buy a third just in case. It was when we discovered the secret code of dummy + elephant on face = sleep that Benjamin started to settle himself.
((((HUGS))))
Look at your sig!! Same here.Buttonmoons wrote: »Hahaha, thing is Keira is a taddle tale and would probably come home and write me a list of what all the other kids did
Think it's horrible how kids say swear words to and at teachers nowadays, I'd of got a wallop round the ear if my mum had been told I'd sworn at a teacher, esp at primary!
Taddle tale :rotfl:I've not heard that in ages!
I still wouldn't dream of swearing in front of my Mum, and i'm 37 1/2! :rotfl:Apart from the odd '!!!!!!', she'd still probably slap me!:beer:0 -
I'm roasting.. The heating's on - FGS why?!
Just eaten a peppered steak slice thingy so I'm on fire inside and out..
Tia, Rhys looked yellow in his first few pics but it's just the light in SCBU0 -

Sorry to sound thick but whats CATCH
It does say on the blurb on the Aberdeen college website that you do that course if you have no proper qualifications to get into uni - like moi, and then once you pass that course you can go to RGU university to take your preferred choice such as mental healthy nursing, child, midwifery....etc.
DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge relevant to employment in the health care environment.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no formal entry requirements, but applicants should have a good general standard of education. Personal qualities and life experiences, including relevant work experience are important. A genuine interest in working with people is essential. Please note that for all care courses involving work experience placement, an offer of a place is subject to a satisfactory check through Disclosure Scotland (Enhanced). All applicants will be invited for a pre-entry guidance and information session. Thereafter, selection will be by individual interview.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
This course is designed for people who do not have the formal entry requirements for nurse education. The Access to Nursing Course enables successful students, who meet the required criteria, to gain an entry qualification into the Diploma HE (Nursing) and Bachelor of Nursing programmes: Adult, Children and Mental Health Branches, as well as Midwifery, at Robert Gordon University. RGU will offer places to applicants who have passed the Access course, have a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check, satisfactory Occupational Health check, college support and successful interview. Applicants wishing to pursue a career in Children's nursing or Midwifery apply as independent candidates following successful completion of the Access course through the CATCH system i.e. the college does not handle applications to these branches. Whilst places are not guaranteed, Aberdeen College applicants have a very high success rate. Successful achievement and subsequent certification from the Scottish Qualifications Authority for the course units requires students to gain a pass in all unit assessments.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Assessment for all units is ongoing throughout the course. Course work is assessed in a variety of ways including, projects, short answer questions, essays and some closed book assessments. The emphasis is centred on student centred learning, where students are encouraged and supported to complete independent research. Students are encouraged from an early stage to take responsibility for their own learning and the use of the college's Virtual learning Environment is actively encouraged. A unit overview will be provided by the lecturer at the beginning of each unit including outcome and particular assessment details.
PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
On successful completion of the Access to Nursing course, students may progress to the DipHE/B Nursing at The Robert Gordon University. Entry to the degree course is subject to the approval of the University. Unit assessment achievement is the agreed requirement for progression.
Okay that's what the course description says - is that right? Sorry to be a pest, but I do fret that I'm doing something wrong, however I'll manage to stick a needle in someone's arm without asking for help is beyond me. Just don't admit yourself to Aberdeen hospital in the forseeable future, you might have been stabbing you in a muscle :rotfl:0
