well Chris is rarely ill so I've not had chance to know if he didn't look right but I wanted to join in :rotfl:
I did recognise the smell of Chris's dirty nappy at boobie group when he was the otherside of the room :cool:0 -
DD still has not POOED! She just woke up with a sore tummy, so I whipped the nappy off her before she could use it, but nope still nothing! We are supposed to be taking her to the Science centre tomorrow, and I'm worried she may poop herself there! She must NEED the toilet but can't get it out, and she thinks it's funny and makes straining noises on the toilet on purpose! Little tinker.
She is having one of those days where she refuses most food, so can't get anything fibre rich into her, I hate how faddy she is, as a baby she used to walk over to your plate and stuff her face, nom nom nom.
Though at least she eats fruit, curry and scrambled eggs now at least!
*sigh* I'm hoping a bit of peer pressure at nursery will help solve it. Mind you, when I went to view the nursery, a LOT of the kids were obese, I mean at 3? How can that be, when you give them what they are eating? I saw one girl take another kids snack, and I know fine DD will give away her snack the little minx.
Not actually happy about the nursery she is going to either, it's in a not so good area, but my sister went to the nursery, then a different school (they live in a better area, but she went to that nursery because her area was full) It's not that the nursery is BAD, it's really the children and parents I'm concerned about.
At the introduction, we were told not to bring our children so I didn't, and was the only one who actually bothered not too! Some of the parents were complaining their children didn't get the time slot they wanted, and were swearing and all sorts, to the headteacher of the whole school! In front of the kids etc.
I just don't want DD coming home needing her mouth washed out with soap, she has obviously heard swear words, but it's not an everyday occurence, more when I'm unloading the dryer and forget the cupboard above me has the door open and I stand up, and crack! Might utter the odd S*** word, though she has never repeated it as she knows it's "naughty bad!" Just worrying as she will probably be exposed to language like that from other kids and might think it's acceptable? I know the kids swear as heard them at that meeting.
one said to his mum as we were leaving "wheres my f****** coke?"
DEAR LORD!
Thing is though, I'm about to apply for the Access to nursing course at college, about time I went back, tired and bored of being at home! Don't get me wrong, I love being around Keira, but now she's about to embark on growing up *sob* I think it's time I got myself some ed-u-ma-ca-shion.
Anyhow, I believe it's 3 full days at college, or it could be spread over 5 days, and I *THINK* the college pay 50% of childcare fees standard, on non income based, and obviously they will pay higher if you earn low. I don't think we will fall into that category, but I'm not well off enough to pay for childcare myself otherwise she'd be going there instead of that manky nursery. Don't think I'll qualify for a bursary either, though at least no fees since I'm ScottishI think I will get once I go to uni though.
Anyways my point is: I'm applying for the February intake, so DD could get settled and used to a nursery environment etc etc, so If my course was over 3days, and they paid 50% I *THINK* I could afford to pay for her to be in a private nursery, could I use her government funding of 12hours or w/e per week there, plus the 50% the college would pay, and pay the rest? If I put her there it would just be 3days per week, or is it illegal not to put 3yo's 5 times a week? So confused!!0 -

Bet you have - most men are a little bit autistic!
Button has the college you're applying to got a nursery? IF i go back to work, we have an onsite nursery, but i'm not hearing good things about it - so i'm going to try and get her into the local college one, it's only 2 minutes from work, and i've heard lovely things about it.
I think you can use your free 12 hours however suits you, over the week.
DD obviously hears swear words at school - but she wouldn't dare repeat them. She was trying to tell me about one particularly naughty boy saying a swear word to the teacher - but she wouldn't tell me what it was, only that it rhymed with duck! :T:beer:0 -

Oh my god!!
My 9 year old step son still blushes when he hears a swear word! He pretends he hasn't heard and he gets quite upset if there is someone around who swears a lot (BIL is a b00ger for it!)
But DSS would never repeat anything he hears (to adults at least) because he knows it is bad. So I guess as long as LO knows that it is not acceptable then maybe she will not pick it up.
Actually DSS said knackered the other day and he was mortified when we told him that it wasn't a word that a polite person should say in public!!
EDIT!!Bet you have - most men are a little bit autistic!

The show today was a little risque and one of the lines was 'it rhymes with banker' - DSS put his finger on his chin in classic thinking mode looked to the heavens for inspiration and then gave up trying to think of the rhyme with a shrug - hubby and I were in stitches!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Sorry Elle, I thought it was Rhys who had bad jaundice. Maybe he did and he just wasn't orange
:o:o uhm... pregnancy brain? :rotfl:
Buttonmoons, I did the NC biomedical last year, which was access to nursing. I don't work and DH makes over £15'000 but I still got a bursary and full childcare costs for the 3 college days for both they boys. (they also paid for the other 2 days for DS2 due to his disability, putting it down to respite for me) Was a great course, Biology, Chemistry, higher human biology, math and your core skills. Loved it. Get my high results on Wednesday! More or less everyone qualifies for a bursary, one of the girls (alright the only othe rmarried one) husband makes 40K and she got a bursary. Go for it, I loved it!!! And can't wait for Sept 2010 so I can do my HNC
ETA, and the nursery there is excellent. DS2 is going there for his pre school year NOT the crappy one here. It's private so extra staff, the students doing childcare go in and work one on one with the kids. Simply excellent! Now trying to fight with the council to find him for 5 full days a week to help him. Well if he went to a special needs nursery it would costs them more!0 -

I think there used to be an onsite creche, but I don't think it's there now? Going back a few years, as last time I was at college, a girl in my class had 2 children in nursery but it wasn't AT the college. She had to do mad dashes after and before. Really dreading that part! Haha.
Hahaha, thing is Keira is a taddle tale and would probably come home and write me a list of what all the other kids did
Think it's horrible how kids say swear words to and at teachers nowadays, I'd of got a wallop round the ear if my mum had been told I'd sworn at a teacher, esp at primary!0 -
hi all,
MFD - I am soooo sorry to hear that Benjamin isn't well. Sending you all our love and hugs. Get better soon Benjamin.
After some good nights sleep/settling wise, i feel i'm back at square one. I currently have my little girl sat on my bed with me looking at the laptop and i have nursery rhymes playing!!!!! unbelievable.
She is on domperidone to help empty her stomach so she feeds better, but after a change in the first couple of days, i can't see that it has improved much now.
Actually i now think she is looking at the telly.
I would try and get her to go to sleep again, but i can't face seeing her fight at the moment. SHe screams so much. I am trying to avoid her associating sleep with negative things (plus i'm scared she hates me)
