 Grrrr... rant coming up!
I'm seriously fed up now.. Because the builder didn't sort himself out and put the building regs application in on Monday (like he told me he had) and only did it today, they've now got as far as they can go before it needs inspecting and it can't be done until Tuesday... so they've f'd off home! He's supposed to work 9-4 and did 10-3 today.. There are still loads of jobs he could have stayed to do, including putting the shower screen up so we can have showers and not just baths.
They can't/won't order the window until the base is built and if they're not going to start building again until Tuesday it's doubtful we'll even have a window in by next weekend! We can't (but looks like we're going to have to!) live in a house with a hole the size of a garage door in the front of it, just boarded up with hardboard. We don't live in a really bad area but I feel like I can't go out without everything being more secure - only times I've been out this week have been when the builders were "keeping guard" on the house.
To add to all that, Rhys has been grouchy all day and I've only just been able to peel him off me and changed my top so I at least look half alive for when OH gets home.. and Rhys has just thrown up all over me, just in the right place to get my top, my vest top and my bra - bloody lovely!
*sigh* Someone pass the biscuits..
Aaaargh that's so frustrating! Having your home messed with is really one of the worst things for stresswhat a pain, and of course Rhys would naturally mirror the turmoil and add to it in his own small way ;/
Good luck, are there ways you can be out of the house but somewhere unstressful a lot for the next week?? Or at least days here and there?0 -

I had DS2 on 12th April, had a period on 26th May then another period 26th June, this month i'm still waiting, is it feesable that because it's only 16 weeks since bubs was born that they will possibly be irregular?
I know I should do a test but i dont feel preggers, last time and the time before I just knew before i even done the test.
Plus i've not been into town so cant get one from the £ shop lolladybirdintheuk wrote: »I've not caught up with anything since earlier (might go back later if I get time!) but I just wanted to say I had a brainwave that I wanted to share with you. After talking about our rubbish presents for the baby, I decided I need to get all these toiletries out of my house, so I called our local womens refuge, and have given them a massive bag of stuff. I ran around the house and added in a few other bits too, so they have a few "mummy" toiletries too, a box of bottles which I've never opened, and a few bits she has grown out of. So yes, that is my good deed for the day.
They also will find a good home for our old living room furniture, which I was going to put on freecycle, but now I can just call them when we've finished sorting everything out, and organise if they want me to bring it somewhere or if they will fetch it. They have to be really careful, so I had to meet them outside a pub to hand the bag over, which made me feel like I was in a gangster film or somethingBut they said they knew exactly who to give it to, and it is going to someone who has absolutely nothing, so I'm glad she will at least have some shampoo and moisturiser, and a few nice smellies for herself too
But yep, I found a website with the numbers of local womens refuge places here. So I have a challenge for the rest of you - go collect up all your unwanted presents or a bag of grown-out-of stuff (and maybe something that doesn't fit YOU anymore too?!!!) and then give your local centre a call and see if they can find a good home for them. God, I feel like I'm on blue peter!
In less virtuous news, I had an e-mail from Bizzie Baby asking if we use sleepingbags or dummies (answer is yes and no), so hopefuly we will have something to test soon
I hope everyone else is having a good afternoon. Must feed this baby, was so busy being an angel I only just noticed what the time was .
ooh thanks! I've been meaning to do this with all the stuff that didn't sell on ebay, I used to send stuff to them from zorbit when I worked there, always got lovely thank you letters0 -
Aww elle that's awful! I remember when we were having new windows put in, they hadn't measured the angles on the front bay properly, so for a few days it was boarded up with hardboard with black plastic sheeting over the front. Our house looked like Steptoes! I also know how you feel about a clingy baby - Caitlyn has only just gone down in the moses basket. I must've tried 4 times today so far, and each time it's as if she knows I've put her down even though she's asleep. She lasts about 3 minutes then starts crying. She did lay awake in it for about 5 mins earlier which let me iron a few clothes so I've at least got something to wear for the next few days! She's asleep in it now so I've just cut the potatoes ready for our gammon and chips for tea
I started doing beans on toast yesterday for tea with DH had her - but no! She couldn't be with him, it had to be me, so he even had to finish the beans on toast. It's times like that when I can't seem to get the simplest of jobs done that it makes me feel really fed up. But she is gorgeous and I love her to bits. This stage is difficult but precious - I don't think we'll be having any more so I ought to make the most of it! PMA PMA PMA!
Don't know if anyone remembers about my childminder wanting a retainer from September to April? Well I phoned tax credits the other day to tell them about Caitlyn so I asked them about it, and when I have to start paying the £30 a week, I'll get an extra £21 a week in TC so it'll only really cost me £9 per week which makes me feel a bit better about it.
Watching a few medela breast pumps on ebay - missed out on a good deal on one yesterday so am watching them like a hawk!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

I told her there wasn't any and she could either go to the toilet like a big girl or poop in her shoes, after muttering on and yelping for about 5minutes, she sat on the toilet, had a wee, and a couple of farts, we sang songs and read a story, and she was shouting down the loo "COME ON POOPY, COME OUT!" I guess she doesn't need quite yet, but looks promising!0

Now I've caught up -
Mrs T - that's a great idea too
Hot peppers - DH is allergic to peppers and tomatoes, so I don't get to eat them often... maybe I should add them to my lunch more often
And does anyone else catch themselves saying really silly things to baby? I was feeding Izzy a jar of lamb somethingorother and I caught myself saying "you remember those animals at the allotment that you were scared of? well guess who you are eating!". I'm honestly not trying to turn her into a veggie like mummy. :rotfl:Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Yes what you get this year is based on last years earnings BUT if you think/know that this years will be significantly different you can call them and say, "I need to tell you we have a change of circumstance, We estimate that this year OH will earn xxx" they have the response to this on their script
The most important thing here is if later in the year you find that OH is earning more than the estimate you gave them call them straight away to let them know
PS. I know this because I've had to do it lots since having Chris :rolleyes:money_maker wrote: »I know the others have answered, but my wage is salary and bonus payments that are variable so my income is never the same. I give an estimate at the start of each year and then give them the correct amount at the renewal date.
I think its a bit less than £3k as I havent received any money off them in over a year and a half as I guessed my income wrong by about £2k 2 years in a row. Also if you estimate yourself under the threshold of basic but end up earning over it, even if that is only a couple of hundred pounds then you will have to pay back all overpayments from future payments.
Thanks for your comments guys - will do that - we may get nothing. TBH I don't mind not getting anything if we earn to much, but we have been paying a huge amount in taxes for years and I would hate to miss out on anything we were 'entitled' to - it's the mse in me :money:
hubby is at rugby training (yup - I managed to persuade him to go back!) tonight so guess it's me on the form filling:pr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
