you werent the only one they say they have phoned and someone has been out to discuss it which is a lot of rubbish and they are now saying we are £700 in debt! am trying to pull out all the bills as they state that we are on top of it all??? im sure they are trying to pull a fast one?
What's for you won't go past you
  • Caz - I don't know anything about these things, but I'm sure there is a watchdog or ombudsman or something you could go to (or the CAB)... but pulling out the bills would be a good start. I would imagine you should be able to request copies of your bills (or the information held on them?) by doing a data protection act thingamy. (Not sure what the technical words are, but the same as you can ask for details of your bank charges - they have to let you have copies of any info the held on you.) but it might be worth asking on the electicity bill forum on here. I expect there is probably someone there who has been through something similar.

MacSmiler - Benjamin loves his highchair but as above, food is only an experiment at the moment :D His favourite thing is to have a load of Fisherprice Rollarounds on the tray and whack them as hard as he can in all directions :rotfl:
Just a little warning, make sure you keep your feet out of the way, rollarounds HURT when they are dropped on to a bony appendage such as a foot!
I wanted to ask about Bouncy Chairs...I stupidly read the back of Benjamins yesterday and it says that it shouldn't be used once the child can sit unaided.

Benjamin is sitting now...although not usually for longer than a minute and only usually when I amuse him with something (although he wants to sit up all the time).
He loves his bouncer...it keeps him occupied for ages playing with the teddies so I love it too. I have got no hope of keeping up with you guys when he has to stop using it :o

So - when do you stop a child sitting in a bouncy chair?

When they try to sit up in said bouncey chair;) that is when they could make it tip over and bust their lip causing Mummy to cry for an hour because her baby is bleeding - not that I know anything about it :o

I am sure someone who knows something will be along in a moment but from memory can't you just call them and give them your circs etc over the phone?

    Don't be frightened ;)

When I called them they said if I hadn't received a pack then I didn't need to renew them. It might be worth you calling them to check though!

  • MFD: we took DS1 out of his bouncy chair when we realised he'd worked out how to bounce himself across the room!

Weezl: did you receive a pack through the post to confirm how much you earnt, childcare costs etc over the last yr? If you completed that and sent it back you're ok its all done or alternatively confirmed figures over the phone.

£700???? OMG that's twice what we spend on Electricity in a year! Is that just electricity or gas too?

Right... First things first - go do your OWN meter reading - make sure it matches what they claim it is. Then find out what period they say this £700 was run up over? Then do a detailed post on the utilities board - they are hot on these issues over there! :)
