Tine some babies are born with teeth! Oh your poor nipples
I know i know... I'm purposely igoring that fact! There is no way on this green earth I'm continuing breastfeeding when her teeth come through! It'll be EBM and formula all the way if her teeth come through!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Oh dear... we're dribbling and chewing a lot today... teething before 3 months old? Please tell me it's not likely!
If she's anything like Celia she'll have 927 episodes of teething before FINALLY sprouting some teeth at eight months!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

My friends that bf toddlers have reliably informed me that they only bite when their teeth are coming through and then they stop. Particularly if you deal with any biting properly :-) So, I wouldn't worry too much!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -

I know you have lovely olive skin but won't it be tough on LO?
Or maybe she likes heat? Benjamin is a complete grump when he is too hot!!
yep - but we wouldn't be going till November time and luckily staying with friends so temp will actually be pretty nice and we'll have access to a pool etc. Althouhg knowing my DH by the time we book it it'll turn out to be somewhere/thing completely different:rotfl:
Are they homemade jaffa cakes? They made them on Something for the Weekend a while back!
how did I miss this?
Congrats Fergie on toothy no.1Home made jaffa cakes eh? Interesting! Actually I only have them in for guests and DH cos when I first had one my mum told me it was a biscuit and gave me one and I was troubled by the squishyness. When my brother asked, she said 'a little cake' and he loves them now
oh - I thought you were going to give us all a recipe weezl:oladybirdintheuk wrote: »
Oh, back to bathtime, we just use water and Dermol 600 (same as oilatum ... we get a prescription for it. I have it in my baths too, so will share Izzy's when I stop getting free prescriptions). Ocassionally we have to use a bit of shampoo, depending on what she had for tea
Do any other babies insist on drinking the bath water? Izzy always grabs the sponge and sucks on it. I've ended up having to have 2 sponges in the bath so we can have one each! (She has also started washing my face for me!)
All the time - she loves to eat bubbles too (hence why we only used water prior to using oilatum!!!):Dr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

My Mum said just try very hard not to jump and scream. They seem to find causing you to yell very amusing and often try and do it again!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Well, I've just had a bizarre 45 minutes... Rhys has been breastfeeding
He was a bit fractious and started sucking on my top, so I pulled the strap down, he bounced around a bit, slammed his wide open mouth down on my nipple and stayed there for half an hour. Most decent effort he's ever made and we haven't tried it for five weeks!
Now how am I going to get his meds into him?!
:j:j:jOh, thankyou, that reminds me I was sent a letter for a smear test appointment whilst I was pregnant and obviously didn't go.. Another thing to phone and book! After having a registrar grovelling around there are 5am on a Sunday morning, all shame has gone out the window and I'm not bothered anymore!
Ok - my very old fashioned and prudish 'britishness' coming out again - even though I've had a baby I'm still care if anyone wants to look anywhere near south of my belly button:eek: And I'm even more scared of childbirth now than I was before having LO:rolleyes: SO basically she's an only child :rotfl::rotfl::omoney_maker wrote: »button, I had this problem with my DD. We found pee pees really easy, but no poos
We did make her go cold turkey and took the pullups off her and put her in big girl pants through the day. We made a really big deal out of it, took her shopping for them and let her pick her own. She CONSTANTLY pooed in them for the 1st few days, and even after a week, we still had the odd accident, but the feeling of a poo in pants is horrible for them in comparison to the nappy.:o
I started by putting her on the toilet at set times (when she normally poos) and playing a game or reading a book with her while she sat there !! I remember once having a table beside her playing guess who with her on the toilet and my nephew walked into the bathroom, burst out laughing and walked out again :rotfl:
Do anything so that she doesnt realise how much time she is sitting there. Also fill her full of water as much as you can for the 1st few weeks to stop the constipation, but you know that is probably caused as she has got herself worked up about pooing now, even if you dont tell her off when she doesnt go, she knows she has done something that you are not happy with, and this will cause anxiety and therefore increase the constipation.
When she has an accident in her pants, comfort her, but be sure to say that it is dirty and make her watch you put it in the toilet and flush it away. And obviously when she does go, fire party poppers and jump up and down, sing a song and clap your hands as much as possible to make her feel special
Oh and GOOD LUCK !!!!:j
that is exactly what the baby whisperer says in her book - and sounds like sensible advice to me - good luck xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Anybody want a 12 year old? He's got up in a one hell of a bad mood and I don't know why
I banned all electronics until after 9am, as I was sick of them arguing over who was going on the xbox first rather than having breakfast  They are both aware of the rule.
Joshua got up this morning and kicked off about the 9am rule. They had breakfast and went upstairs. Don't know what happened but I heard yelling and banging and when I went up, they were rolling around on the floor fighting. Told them to pack it in and did the choices thing - be good and get stuff at 9am or continue to fight and it's banned till 12pm.
Fight broke out again, so everything has been banned till 12pm. James accepted that, said sorry and he's been well behaved since.
Joshua went off on one, hurling abuse at everyone, then accidentally locked himself in the porch and hammered on the door and yelled to be let back in, then accidentally locked himself in his bedroom by taking the door handle off (it was loose anyway - needs the screw holes filling and redoing), and repeated the hammering and yelling. Told him he was banned from everything for the rest of the day, as I'm not putting up with behaviour like that.
Had the usual verbal outburst blaming everyone and everything else for his bad behaviour, and how I favour James and Charlotte and how he's so badly done to
Now he's rang my Mam, so my Mam is all over him and thinks he's right and I'm a crap Mam for punishing him
I'm off work today, but I wish I was going in now
But you have such a wonderfully cute toddler that you have to have some teenage tantrums to make up for Charlotte :rotfl::rotfl:;):Dr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
