OK sorry girls (& Bruno:)) TMI question coming up .......

My 1st period started back on Sunday, and it wasnt very much Sunday night and Monday, but then I woke up this morning with the pad soaked through, and I have had to change it every half hour to an hour tonight as I am bleeding that much !!! I have my 6 week check up tomorrow, so I will mention it then, so I am not asking medical advice, but what was it like for the rest of you??

Well I still need to keep pullups in the house, because she wears one to bed.

I know I need to be strict with her about it, I've done the nicey approach and explained it all too her and she does agree with me. I think perhaps one of the reasons why she doesn't want to do it on the toilet is because sometimes she can get quite constipated (though not so much lately) and she can take as long as she likes with the nappy, keep playing with her toys etc, but couldn't on the toilet.

We do have a special small seat on the toilet for her, but she doesn't like it, prefers sitting on the normal seat, and she faces towards the bath and hangs on.

I guess her pooping on the floor isn't SO bad, but I'd prefer her to at least do it on the kitchen tiles :p

We will get there, hopefully by Sep 1st! I'm sure peer pressure is a marvellous thing, and once she sees all the other boys & girls going to the big toilet, she'll want to do it. I'm hoping we'll of cracked that by then though.....

Will she not settle with your OH ?? What about your eldest DD? Is she able to help out to give you half an hour of a break ?
At least you know your loved and needed :D:D:D

The 2 eldest don't live at home anymore. :( When she stayed it was bliss! I just had to iron some clothes for Ben tomorrow as all the while OH was off he just left it, he's never ironed! Never mind, off to bed now, with Maddy in arms.

Re bleeding, really can't remember, sorry! X

button, I had this problem with my DD. We found pee pees really easy, but no poos

We did make her go cold turkey and took the pullups off her and put her in big girl pants through the day. We made a really big deal out of it, took her shopping for them and let her pick her own. She CONSTANTLY pooed in them for the 1st few days, and even after a week, we still had the odd accident, but the feeling of a poo in pants is horrible for them in comparison to the nappy.:o
I started by putting her on the toilet at set times (when she normally poos) and playing a game or reading a book with her while she sat there !! I remember once having a table beside her playing guess who with her on the toilet and my nephew walked into the bathroom, burst out laughing and walked out again :rotfl:
Do anything so that she doesnt realise how much time she is sitting there. Also fill her full of water as much as you can for the 1st few weeks to stop the constipation, but you know that is probably caused as she has got herself worked up about pooing now, even if you dont tell her off when she doesnt go, she knows she has done something that you are not happy with, and this will cause anxiety and therefore increase the constipation.

When she has an accident in her pants, comfort her, but be sure to say that it is dirty and make her watch you put it in the toilet and flush it away. And obviously when she does go, fire party poppers and jump up and down, sing a song and clap your hands as much as possible to make her feel special :)

    Oh and GOOD LUCK !!!!:j

    That's really helpful, thanks MM.

She doesn't really have set times for pooping unfort! Some days it can be twice and others she won't go for 2days!

She does wear pants during the day, but she is fly, and takes her trousers off, puts a pull up on, hides her knickers, and puts the trousers back on!

Gonna feel so strange when she goes to wearing zero pullups, car journeys I'll have to be asking her if she needs the loo every 2mins!

Would diluted juice be okay? For the love of god she will not drink water unless it's given to her by someone else, I don't know why, probably to annoy me.....

dilute would be fine. Its gonna be harder for you than her. I got professional help with this, so what I have mentioned above is what a professional nanny does :) Dont make any difference about normal day to day things though, if she poops in the car, then she will have to sit in it till you get to your destination !! Only big thing is to HIDE the pull ups !!!!!!!!

ETA - plan to start this when you do not have to leave the house for a couple of days !! Will make life much easier for you :)
