it looks weird to see you putting alexandra instead of roo!
£900 is more than my OH's wages  i wish we were in a position to call that spare!!
Yeah it looks great on paper...Sadly it never feels like it and we both have debts and the mortgage hanging over our hreads but yes I know we're not doing badly... Was a bit of a shock seeing my salary for last month coming through... 50% and I know I'm lukcy that i get that much for 12 weeks when statutory is waaaaaay less than that...
The fact that we both earn a lot is great but it means it's a heck of a drop when for us when I go on SMPWe get no WTC or anything... I know I shouldn't complain but it's a harsh adjustment to cope with when you drop more than 75% of your income suddenly...
Then again if we had no debts then we could comfortably afford for me to be at home all the time... sad isn't it?redmel1621 wrote: »Tine - That is great if you can take the full year off, I remember it is something you were worrying about back on the preg thread:)DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Everybody lives to their means, so any drop in income..whether you earn 12 000pa or 40 000pa, is hard to cope with. Once dh and I eventually get qualified and are earning decent salaries, we will almost definitely increase our outgoings, nice cars, holidays, clothes etc....we probably won't mean to do it but it 'just happens';)
I am currently trying to win a playgym on eBay for Kai...fingers crossed it doesn't go too high:)

Hope you are ok caz - thinking of you *hugs* xx
Was tired last night and was laying on the sofa watching a film but could hear Charlotte yelling in her bedroom. Hubby went up and she'd taken her jarma bottoms of and was dancing in her bed, singing her head of and swinging the jarma bottoms round her head. He asked why she'd taken the jarma bottoms off and she claimed they "just fell off" :rotfl:
LOL - our favourite toddler strikes again!!

Been to see my mum & dad and brother & SIL today. My mum seemed genuinely upset that when Benjamin was over-tired and grumpy he stopped crying when she passed him to meI am his mummy for heavens sake!!!
SIL is a complete worry wart and called ahead to let us know that big-nephew had headlice a MONTH AGO  and then said she wasn't going to pick Benjamin up because she has a sore throat  She also worried every time he put something in his mouth (EVERYTHING goes in his mouth!) and disinfected toys before she gave them to himmakes me feel like a very bad mummy - I gave up worrying too much at about day 3 :rotfl:
MrsT - the drop in earnings is a killer but you manage somehow!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Kai also shoves everything in his mouth...I keep wondering if it is even worth me sterilising bottles anymore! His latest trick it to eat his feet and as he is on his feet a lot on the door bouncer or walker, I have to keep putting his shoes on and off cos our floors, i'm ashamed to say, aren't the cleanest!!! Think two hyper boys and big hairy dog running in and out of the house, stomping mud everywhere!!!!
Yaaaay! I won the play gym for £7.20, I am so made up:D

Yay :T:T Bargain!!
When I open Benjamins fingers there is always carp in between them and the fluff between his toes is chronic and he puts both in his mouth as often as possible (although big bro likes to pick the fluff out from between his toes :rotfl:)
My mum says that you sterilise bottles to make sure that there is no leftover milk in them and I sterilise stuff for that reason only. Once it has gone through the steriliser that is enough for me...I put the bottles together, close them up and use them when I get around to it!!
Just call me bad mummy with a dirty baby :rotfl:
I don't bath him every day either :eek:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120
