I've been to the shop (not via a direct route, obviously!), and have got a few bits I needed. I'm not happy about the lack of exercise over the last couple of weeks, so I really need to get my act together if I'm not going to put weight on. I need to go out for another walk later, and keep going until I reach my 12500 target!

Off to change the hall lightbulb...

I'd ring them on the grounds that if they are delayed they should ring and let you know (you might get free delivery or something).

Back from town, paid in cheques, did a top up food shop, returned some stuff to M&S, decluttered a bag of old clothes to the charity bin.

Stupidly let my blood sugar go silly so now feel a bit rough, having a cuppa before I start the dinner.

Greenbee - thanks, you helped me make my decision. I'll finish it off in a bit and that will be another heart.

  • Ok I managed to do the following:

    Got rid of:
    3 large catalogues
    5 magazines
    another 2 training booklets
6 of the curly spine things that hold papers together - these hurt when taking them off the papers - they spring back on your fingers - Ooouch :shocked:
    20 pages of notes

Also bagged up more stuff for Charity
    2 dressing gowns
    1 mens jacket
    1 old briefcase

I then put 6 files away on the shelves in the coal shed
also put the magazine holders away
cleared and cleaned 2 shelves in the cupboard - including removing the massive spider that had taken up residence
folded 2 coats, that should sell and 2 lots of new socks still in packaging
and water proof picnic rug on one shelf
The other cleared shelf now has 2 perserving pans
antique tool carrier, shoe holder for wardrobe and large squashy weekend bag all to Ebay

So that's one of the many black sacks that I brought back from Mum's gone - still several to go but it is more than I have sorted out for weeks. I think I had to stop being ill to see that I have to clear this stuff in order to gain any sense of order in my home.

  • OK - HHC has reduced my ironing pile by 2/3rds. Now stopping to make dinner and tend the poorly so DH can do some work paper bits that need doing.

    See you all later

    Hi

I am so sorry that I am not really following the lists ...... should I stop posting on here???

I hope not because I do find that I am more motivated by others on here and also it has taught me not to worry quite so much that I am not up to their mark - IYSWIM

Absolutely NOT you are as much a part of the team on here as anyone. If we start kicking people off who don't get stars then I will be at the top of the list :o:rotfl::o:rotfl:If all those who did not get 5 starts stopped posting the thread would cease to exist!!!

The important thing is that you are doing something which judging by your list you have done loads. Celebrate what you have done and not what you haven't.

I have NEVER qualified for a star yet, I was a gnats whisker off getting my first this week. I did debate doing the last thing to get that star but figured my time would be spent more productively at this point in time on dot2dotting. I need to do things where I can see a tangible difference and once a drawer is closed no one can see the contents! Once I have more generalised order to the house then I will do the bits you can't see, like the insides of drawers etc.

Toots, soappie and pigpen are here just like everyone else, trying to get their homes in order so that they can enjoy their spare time doing things they want to do with people they want to do it with.

There is no competition for the shiniest house, merely mutual support for what is lets face it some of the most mundane and boring of tasks that need doing.

    Soappie
was trying to encourage us to achieve what we can during the week so that the weekends are that much more nejoyable. Obviously everyone has different demands on their time and work patterns dictate when we can and cannot fly.

I have been plodding on this afternoon doing a dot to dot on the hall as it has disappeared again!

ETA MO5 I would complain about late delivery, might get you a free delivery or gift card for another shop.
