I didn't get a star for Friday this week because there was really nothing on the list that applied to me. I did do all the bedrooms, but only the master bedroom was listed so that only helped me, didn't get a star. I could have lied and said I did the stuff, but I'd really only be lying to myself and what's the point of that?

My house is far from perfect but I've decluttered all the stuff I can over the last year or so (it's not my place to get rid of the stuff DH wants to keep). I've been through my cupboards regularly. I vacuum almost every day.

Greenbee - thanks, you helped me make my decision. I'll finish it off in a bit and that will be another heart.

Suppose I should do mine then... except they're not open until Monday now! I'll sort it out first thing tomorrow.
Ok I managed to do the following:
    ...
So that's one of the many black sacks that I brought back from Mum's gone - still several to go but it is more than I have sorted out for weeks. I think I had to stop being ill to see that I have to clear this stuff in order to gain any sense of order in my home.

You've done a huge amount of stuff. I hope listing it all is helping you to see how much you've achieved. You don't have to follow the lists to keep posting here, and anyway, as you're decluttering you're clearly cleaning too as you put things away (otherwise the spider would still be in residence ;))

I've changed the hall lightbulb, washed both of the uplighters in the hall as they had dead flies in them, brought the washing in, put the cleaning cloths away, folded the rest of the stuff and realised that I'm going to have to do some ironing sometime  preferably before the pile gets unmanageable again. I've also had another quick go over a bit of work surface that was STILL sticky, but I think I'm done now.

My dad put up a shelf in the kitchen yesterday, so at some point I need to decide what's going to go on there - cue yet another major re-arrangement of the kitchen/utility cupboards, and possibly sections of other rooms too :rotfl:

I feel like having a nap... which probably wouldn't be a good idea, so guess I should go for a brisk walk round the block, and then come back and get on with some paperwork!

Absolutely NOT you are as much a part of the team on here as anyone. If we start kicking people off who don't get stars then I will be at the top of the list :o:rotfl::o:rotfl:If all those who did not get 5 starts stopped posting the thread would cease to exist!!!

By this week's standards I'd be second on the list!

Please all remember that stars are a relatively new things, some of us have been here for years and we never had stars before. Pigpen (or before her Lil_me, Michelle, Moggins) used to give us suggested lists we'd either follow them or create or own. We used to still have challenges etc.

I agree with dusty and AnW's mum -( :hello: hi ladies!). I try to do a day's worth each day but not necessarily in the order listed here. I find term time Mondays the most difficult, as there is usually a meeting afterwards, and I'm just too tired then when I get home. So, I tend to do the downstairs all together on Tuesdays. I have given up on Friday's list this week, as I just didn't have the energy. I intended the kids to do their own rooms, but they haven't yet. :(. They will be though!;)

When I went to have coffee with a friend last week (I gardened for her for years until her husband selfishly retired and took over) I was telling her about the forum, and our meet in London - and she was in absolutely hysterical fits of laughter that I actually do housework and belong to a forum about it!! So, if I can, then there's hope for the rest of you! (I'd still rather be gardening)

There are a number of things that have been left during the term which I want to get sorted this holiday - OH and the boys have just done one today, ordering a TV table for the livingroom. Unfortunately, they are also after a new TV, and if I let OH out with them again, I shall end up with a monstrosity that costs only a bit less than the house...

I still have hopes of hemming the curtains and putting them up. That leaves finding additional storage for other things we want to keep in here - DVD's, photos, possibly the paperwork. I'm spending some time researching the possibilities.

The other room that needs time is the bedroom, but only because that's where we stacked all the things from the livingroom when we redecorated and I haven't moved them since. I spent an hour yesterday sorting, and there's a bag for the charity shop, a bag recycled, and some on freecycle. DS1 is going to try ebay some of the stuff next week.

I've done a couple of hours on the allotment today, and came home with new potatoes, baby carrots, baby French beans (growing your own does lead to veggie infanticide - they taste great small!) - and, no surprises here, another eight courgettes. I'll be working my way through that list of recipes, Penelope Penguin, and soappie.

ps soappie - do you grow Saponaria? Maybe valli would like it too, you can crush the leaves in water, and work up a lather, which is apparently very good for delicate old linen and lace.

    hugs for Jo.

    Hi Serena :)

I am so jealous of your veggies, if you ever want another garden to do you can look after ours ;)

Tadahhhhhhhhhhh the hall is clear :D but I found out the dyson has died :( I thought it wasn't picking up that well so started pulling it to bits and found the bottom hose is broken. Not something that is designed to be replaced easily and gaffer tape would only be a temporary solution so it looks like we will be shopping this week for a new hoover.

So kitchen and hall now need to be maintained and next dot2dot commenced!
