  • Frodders we used to have Sunday school, and we have Kingfishers on Tuesdays, but there really aren't enough children in the congregation (of about 15) to make it a runner.

Have reclaimed the sitting room, can see the dogshelf and hoovered it, was just going on to do the hall when a nasty grinding noise and smell of burnt rubber and the hoover (actually dyson) packed up. bother.

Off to price up a replacement. Also wm on again and S and Sd the kitchen, thrown out the recycle and the composting and another paperback for the charity shop.

    Hello all

yet again i've been awol this week. I really did intend to fly but it was a busy week at work (still going well though) and then we were away from friday night til yesterday night. DH has been great again and hoovered round on Fri before we went....but it's not really up to my / flying standards at the moment! A bit like froddy I am going to have a revised list for this week and try and do more next week. Got a half price oakham chicken at M&S so going to do a roast later, at the same time I'll try and do a few bits:

    1. do bathroom
    2. do kitchen
    3. new home card for Gs.
    4. apply for tax disc (hehe have just done this but want to cross something off!)
    5. WM x2 at least
    6. clean washing away

that should be do-able and not too stressful. somewhere i had a list of 5 things, will see if i can find it! ETA: found it!

    1. order organized mum diary - they sell them at waitrose near work apparently so going to look in person
    2. make list of everyone's birthdays - keep missing them!
    3. phone Gail
    4. order new keyboard for laptop
    5. sort gym trial membership they wanted £90 a month for membership, £125 for trial membership, no chance!
Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j

Greenbee - insurance dilemma - do I go with co-op £45 more than Diamond but 'chance of '£54 back on Quidco or just go for Diamon - who I had the year before last and were excellent when I needed to make a claim?

greenbee - glad the cake went down well; what did you do in the end?

Chocolate & vanilla layer cake (with raspberry & chocolate filling). Covered with white sugarpaste & coloured polkadots (I don't know what's in the blue colouring, but it doesn't wash off hands as easily as the other colours!)

Ive been through this so many times over the past 7 years, its pointless. It will cause me so much more stress and upset than I want or need and it will be a completely pointless exercise.

He will pay me nothing off his own back. I have been through the CSA and in 7 years have managed to get me a whole £70!!!

Everytime the CSA catch up with him, he signs on, works on the side, but then asks the DSS for a crisis loan. They deduct the money from his benefit to repay the loan first, and then as that takes him under the minimum required that HE is entitled to live off, they are unable to deduct any of the CSA payments.

So it will be stress and drama and I will get nothing anyway.

Sorry, I forgot you'd mentioned this before. All I can say is that if this is the way he approaches his responsibilities, you and your DS are better off without him, and your DS will grow up with decent values. It doesn't sound as if he'd learn that from your ex.
    cheeky moo!!! Have PM'd you!

"nervous"... like Im some sort of stalker... *wanders off muttering*

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As a couple of people have previously mentioned that you are a bad influence, I can't be too careful :p

Dusty - as the insurance saving would only be £9 (assuming the quidco money comes through), then I'd go with the cheaper one seeing as you already know that they're good! I'm having a similar issue... do I stick with my ethical broker or go out and see whether I can find something cheaper. If I leave it long enough, I know what'll happen... the quickest one!

A bit scrappy, but my husband claims there is a human dynamo in the house (I could be sarky and tell him I only seem like a dynamo compared to how little gets done normally - he is supposed to be the house husband round here) but I will choose to take it as a compliment.
I am going to set my timer for fifteen minutes list clearing, fifteen minutes knitting as a reward, then fifteen minutes list clearing.

If he's supposed to be the house husband, how come you're doing the flying  Can't you leave the lists for him to deal with each day?

I've hung the tea-towels & cleaning cloths on the line to dry, emptied the DW, washed up the stuff that needs doing by hand, hoovered the kitchen, hall & loo, and then mopped the floors. I've also made lunch (spanish omelette using left-over veggies from Friday and the spare egg yolks from making the sugar paste) and eaten it.

Guess I've got no excuse now for not going to the shop, so I'll get changed and walk up there!

You're right they are completely useless, well, almost completely.
He may not be as cavalier with his employment though when there's less of it about, and although I agree that chasing the CSA to do what they are supposed to is a full time job, there are things they can do, especially when he has a poor history.

My ex changes jobs each time they get a deduction of earnings order, and/or moves house and doesn't tell anyone. I can see it might be a pressure too much at the moment, but may be worth the time investment.
    The so-and-so.

eta anyone reccommend a vacuum cleaner?

He does do lots normally, but I like things done my way and it is a relief to be sorting out the house rather than dealing with 30+ teenagers all day:D.
