We have 8 weeks of summer hols to fill here, worse than last year and now they are older they fight a bit more. DD is starting primary school but not till 10th sept and she broke up on the 16th July. My mum is having them for 1 night and that was like getting blood from a stone. OH is having thurs and fri off this week as I dont have to work those evenings so we will have some big family days then, hope the weather is better.

Yesterday we went to the library, they got 2 books out each - there wasnt much there its clearly been ransacked. Also found out they are doing a fairy and goblins day one sat and dragon crafts morning later in the hols that would be good for the kids.

Today I have to get the housework done and had planned painting with the kids (dd got alot of arts and crafts for her bday so I saved most of it for school hols) but since it looks nice out I might take them round the block on thier bikes so they arent in too much. Then tomorrow dd and I are getting our hair cut so will just need to fill in the hour or 2 either side the appointment.

We went to see Room on the Broom at the carriageworks theatre in Leeds, its on tour so if its coming to a theatre near you its well worth going.

My 5yr old thought it was fantastic, it cost £7 each which I didn't think was too bad when you compare it to the lazytown live/scooby doo live things.

We played in the paddling pool at our town park yesterday, even when it rained :) I ran out of sun lotion though, so I did his body, and didn't have any for his face so that got a bit pink - bad mother!

Today we are making cakes and decorating them with smarties, etc. for 4 year old's birthday tea party tomorrow. There's also a craft session at the library, something to do with the dragon thing.

we went to an organised craft thing this morning. There is one every week with a different topic. I don't like crafts at home-far too messy :D. Then there was singing after, which the baby loved, & the boys objected to. We stopped at the library on the way home, picked up a kids first cookery book, & signed the eldest up to their summer reading challenge.

going to supermarket to buy play sand and more face paints tomorrow. Thinking about getting a tent out to do sleeping in the garden, once the weather improves.

well we really enjoyed race to witch mountain, the 9 year old is space mad so he enjoyed, then the museum had family crafts which was free they stayed there till 3, then chippy for tea, but i made the mistake of telling them they could have what they wanted and they chose fish and chips and i couldnt say no, so the days total was 17.00 which wasnt bad as they did pictures and tea in that.
And now they are having sports challenge on the wii!!!!

Well, dd(7) is now at her Brownie pack holiday and dd(17) is at her friends, so it's just me, my dog and my cat - and they are both fast asleep!

And it has just struck me this is the first time I have ever been alone in a house all night!

We've just been sorting stuff out and I have mowed the grass today - it was a bit if a jungle and took me two hours! DD was helping but then some friends called for her so I was left to it.:D

Has anyone seen ScoobyDoo live? (Millie's mum has reminded me of it!)
