Yesterday my parents came over but stayed in as it was raining so much, exxcept for a couple of hours in the afternoon when I took DDs to a 'make and bake your own picnic' session at the local children's centre - needless to say it was an indoor picnic LOL! Free session though so can't complain and got food out of it!

Today is going to be a quiet one - baby kept me up until at least 4am so I'm completely knackered! Got a couple of bits and bobs to get so a trip to the shops and possibly the park if the weather holds out. Also hoping for a sort through the kids toys which are currently sat in the conservatory still there from moving house a month or so ago and most of which keep getting spread all over downstairs every day but not used much so hoping to get rid of some.

Yesterday it was Twinlakes for me and my little one, rollercoasters in the rain, ice skating and getting a wet bum going down slides only to land in a puddle great fun.

I picked dd up from her Brownie holiday earlier and we went to see my mum. Now I am starting to pack for a weekend by the sea. :j

DD is shattered so we are just about to have some tea and then watch Peter Pan, which we recorded on the TV some time last week, before having an early night.

I have to go to uni in the morning, but once I am back, we are off - we were going to go Saturday but the caravan is empty so I thought we may as well go a day earlier - I can't wait. :j

DD & I took her kids to the river, splashed in the puddles, fed the ducks, got very wet in the rain, had chips & icecream for 4 of us £5, nice balanced diet, lol. Played in the park on the way home & got dry in the sun walking home, we'll do the same next week but hopefully it will be dry enough to take a picnic.

We had an amazing day in the forest school, 16 children came so they all had someone to play with! they made dens, and climbed trees we toasted marshmallows and bread and all got really really muddy and there was tears of laughter and tears when a few fell over, but all in all a fantastic day and all free!!!
Roll on the next forest day!
Tommorow we are off to plantasia as I had a voucher to get a child in free with an adult so its 6.50 for the 3 of us, then off to my hospital appointment then Im treating my daughter to a haircut and then ice cream from Joes then home!!
And if they are not too exhausted we are having a marathon board game session!!!

Well we had a big day out yesterday to london, kids seemed to enjoy it. We did the natural history museum then picnic in kensington gardens, walked through hyde park then saw all the other sights. Kids and OH wanted to go on the london eye but think we'll save that for next year since I want to get a merlin pass next year for the summer hols.

OH is off again today but we are a bit pooped from yesterday - he wants to go for a bike ride - i want the beach, kids are itching to do something so a decision will need to be made soon. OH also wants to go swimming but its gonna be rainy day tomorrow so swimming is best saved for then I think.

Husband has been off for a few days and took the kids to Gt yarmouth with his mum and stayed o/night at her cousins. Kids went to the beach and in the sea and on a few rides. I stopped at home and had a lovely peaceful time, went and had coffee with a couple of mates and my parents, had sunday lunch out with my nan and best of all the house stopped tidy.:D

Tomorrow is hubby's last day off work and he is taking kids to a fishing lake.
  • I'm really enjoying this thread, but it's making me feel sad too. My DD's aged 15 and 17 no longer want/need me to entertain them during the holidays. They just go out with their friends all the time. :(

I really miss all the days out I used to plan, so all you mums reading this make the most of it. The years fly by and before you know it you'll be wishing your kids were young again!
