Been catching up over the last 3 days posts.
    Debtmonkey. Love your honesty.
YM, thanks for the recipe link.
    Winebox, you really are v.funny.
    Budgie, you amaze me.
    GC - just awesome.

Welcome all newbies and hi to everyone I missed.

Me - target missed even after adjustment (ty Jo!) and 'looking forward' to being AF free I hit the self destruct button and made 15 out of 18. It's 50 % better than April and May though.

August, aiming for 18. Have more family arriving this month.

Has anyone seen the sun ?

In case anyone missed it aiming at 21 AF days in August...still deliberating about my day today!

Don't worry, didn't miss it! Shall list the runners and riders later.

Good luck with deciding what to do with your weekend. Personally, I would make the most of having the house to yourself. But thats just me! Have a good day, whatever you decide!

    Miss P

It's as if you lot suddenly had summer holidays and time to post or something! Can't believe how much I've just read in one go while massively hungover. GC & WB eh, who'd have thought. Since I'm still probably drunk and just caught up on a huge amount this ramble will be even more rambly than usual.

Miss Piggy, please would you put me down for 8 in August. I was going to just avoid a target but decided 2 a week is a good minimum level even if there's a lot of drinking reasons/excuses coming up next month.

Budgie, I know exactly what you mean about Schumy, I can't believe I was quite impressed with him coming back. Plus some of the interviews he's done since retiring have made him seem a lot more human. I'm still cheering for Button and Williams.

Welcome Debt Monkey 1A, Geranium, Deeks, Caz and Wpf! Glad that we'll have so many of you to keep us company in August while the others are AWOL. Wpf, what colour wine do you usually drink? If it's red then everyone'll be able to tell it's me if I name the colour of the bottle of wine I've just downed. (I know they're Green before anyone chips in!) Glad you're here again and I love your name. Maybe we can have a group journey to get us all some. Guess it doesn't come in a bottle.

Debt MOnkey, I expect nobody told you off as we've been there done that or similar. Sometimes when I look back to my teenage phase I can make myself blush just thinking about stuff I did back then. Sober as well as drunk. For what it's worth I'd suggest the slobbing out at home enjoying control of the remote control. Money saving and won't lead you astray on the first few days of your booze free week. Our subconscious tries to sneak in opportunities to drink and this might be one of those times?

Changing ways - come back out of lurkdom, join us, join us....Well done on 10 weeks AF. Do you know the flylady site? I think it's brill if you can take the corny american stuff that goes with... http://www.flylady.net/pages/begin_babysteps.asp. The worst part is she tells you to do stuff that makes no sense at all so you spend ages (four years in my case!) rebelling and the worst part is when you actually just do it turns out she's right. Still not there yet but trying to find just 15 minutes a day.

And in case anyone wants to check it out here is the British Liver Trust. I won't right now as I'm not feeling sober or strong enough to know how carp I'm being to myself. www.britishlivertrust.org.uk

PiR glad at least Camden market was happening.

Warning, this paragraph goes back pages to the embarrassing drinking incidents and is gross.

I've done lots of vomiting but no drunken bed wetting so another it's a guy thing. I seem to be less 'good' at vomiting and get more hangovers as a result. My stomach used to reject much lower levels of poison. Typing this not sure if I am going to vomit in the next hour or two and kind of wanting to get it over. Memorable bad moments in the last year or two include being sick on a night bus whilst waiting for the doors to open, boy does that splashing travel a long way. And can join WB with the who are you, oh no moments too although decades ago now.

Dentist at 3pm today...that might get August off to a flying start if I get another course of the non-drinking antibiotic! I'd have to have an af weekend!! Mind you, reading the side-effects of this stuff it would be better for my liver to stick to 2 bottles of wine a day .

Thanks Winebox, so glad you're back!! Missed ya. Hope less mouth pain now.

Hello Stroppy, glad you stopped by to say hi.Can't get that image of your lodger out of my head, don't think I'd have got passed that stage to become friends, wow.

Right. off to find some ballast to soak up the disgusting wine ridden contents of my gullet now. Toast. Don't think I can risk tea with milk as it's going to curdle.
  • YM - Your smilies kill me :rotfl:

Welcome to the madhouse Changing Ways and Deeks, good luck with your new pastime ;) (Turns out we spend more time on here than we do drinking now :rotfl:)

I have a special website for that. Maybe when I know you better I'll send you the link.

Morning all - gosh you get up early! I'm still in bed (don't worry, covered up) - it's raining & the dog's not nagging yet to go out & DD's still fast asleep!
wbf have you actually been to bed?! Hope you feel better soon. I've also heard that eggs are good for hangovers. A full english gets my vote.

Can you believe (yes........) I've been sitting here contemplating putting off the tablets to tomorrow. Went down to start them earlier but they say to take with food & couldn't be a*sed to "make" toast so not had one yet. Oh I've got to, it would be just TOO embarrassing, esp on the 1st of the month! As soon as I've finished on here I'll go & get them started. How odd, I'll be able to declare 5 afds on the 1st! That'll confuse the scorer :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:(sorry Miss P & good luck for the month)

1959 must have been a good year :T:T.

Vintage :D:D. I was a great aunt at 42! (my niece is 40, my eldest brother having turned 67 this year ). What with me having a 10-year-old the ages in my family are very topsy-turvy. I'm not the youngest, I have a younger brother & his daughter is 21.

GP - said younger brother cycled 50 miles to visit me last week then undid the good work by downing 3 bottles of red wine! Not recommended; he did another 40 the next day tho. This does not run in the family (well, the wine does, not the cycling).

    Morning!!!!

Nice to see WB and GP (cool avvie!) back on here :D

YM - Yeah the footie's back in a few weeks!! Where does the year go, it comes round so quickly and then in a few months they talk about the season being over!

BHB - full of humour as ever!!!

Jo - I only read back a couple of pages and I think I got the drift of what you were doing, don't be embarrassed, if you go back for counselling just treat it as a fresh start and take it from there

    Welcome newbies and oldies :D

As for me, I'm taking it day by day for this month. Will finish the 1/2 bottle of rose wine in the fridge (slightly lower % ABV) then see wher I go from there.

Miss P if you could put my down for 30 please for August, yes, I'm aiming for 30 AFD.

I will make it this month :D

I've been thinking about this for a while and once this wine has gone I'm having a break from alcohol for the rest of the month the see how I feel after that!

    Bring it on! :j
