Hi everybody
Thanks Jo for all your fab scoring this month, and best of luck with the counselling. 24 for me this month, just missed my target, but I did get the job, so please can I have a jumpie?
BB - well done to your lovely DS on his promotion, he is brill, like his mum.
Winebox - we are the same age, 1959-ers. I really don't feel 50 either and people tell me I look a lot younger - it must be the wine! No I mustn't think like that, I am cutting down
Night night xTotal AFD's May-December 2009: 178 ie 73% of total days (245 days)

My oldest sister is also 50 this yr and she also looks much younger ( and she is now a grandmother:T) so 1959 must have been a good year :T:T.

Evening all, just want to say a tentative hello.
Just joined the give up smoking group as that is my main vice but would like to cut down on the booze as well, even though I enjoy the stuff.
Only had a glass of wine (and 2 beers on the way home from work)
It is Friday after all :T
Hope your all well (and a little sober)0 -
Thanks, Miss Piggy, you are very kind! :T
Hmmm 40SM, your sister is a grandmother at 50. Congratulations to her and glad she looks young too.
TGIFriday wine bells were clanging earlier this evening, but I've been drinking tea and coffee, and they have all shut up now!!!

Liver tests...mmmmmm. How do you get one? Do you have to go to your doctor? I must admit I would like to do it. I suppose I kind of wish it would come back and I would HAVE to stop what I am doing. But on the other hand, if it came back fine, would I just carry on? How much do you have to drink before it effects your liver? Maybe it is dependant on the person?
I saw that guy on This Morning a while back and he drank two bottles of wine a day and ended up neading a liver transplant  Could that be truthful?
Coming out of lurkdom to say that I researched this a while back and found the British Liver Trust site, which has really good straightforward info on alcohol and the liver, including liver function tests. Sorry I can't post a link.
Back to lurking again now;).0 -

Thanks for the welcome Jo. I did post once ages ago in the old days when I was a cutter downer. I turned out not to be so good at that despite my very good intentions every single morning
, so I stopped instead and now AF for about 10 weeks:j. I never in a million years thought I'd be able to just stop, but one day I realised I didn't have to keep drinking if I really didn't want to. Now counting the weeks rather than the hours and feeling good.
Only thing is that now I have more energy I have even less excuse for neglecting housework.0 -
