Sorry if I sound thick here, but I don't get the avatar thing. What are they? I've read the FAQ about them, but it's still no clearer I'm afraid.
I've read some posts about yellowmonkey's scary avatar, but I can't see it!!!!!!!!!!!
Am I being blind? Stoopid?? Both???

Hi all
Haven't managed to catch up yet (am at work so shouldn't even be on here !!) but just wanted to say can you put me down for 4 AF please
I went to the party on Saturday saw loads of people I haven't seen for years. I didn't drive in the end as my daughter insisted on driving, so I did drink, however, I only had 3 SMALL red wines and even turned down the offer to stay until 2 in the morning, now for me that is an achievement.
I was shocked on Sunday to find I had one almighty headache, just goes to show how quick the body gets used to no alcohol or reduced amounts.
I am really pleased about this as I can tell you I won't be having anything more to drink until the weekend :T
I think I am going to make that a rule and with your help will be able to stick to it. I will not drink from Sunday to Friday night each week, so with that in mind can I make my target 18 for september please
Good luck to everyone and as the boss is away, I am now going to catch up :rotfl:

Trouble is once Ive done one day by the next evening I start to think oh well ive had a day off one tonight wont hurt
Am going to rejoin the challenge for September please YM and will start with my usual 8
summer hols really have made me a lot worse than i usually am as i also dont have to be up early for the school run.
Hope everyone is well and hello to Wine Box, Jo, Fay and all the newbies and oldies Ive not named....sorry my memory is poor

It may not be your bag but its another alternative to AA, counselling or whatever.
Take care
Eyeopener.
I might do that, Allen Carr definitely worked for me for stopping smoking, haven't had one since 8th January 2007 :T
Now why didn't I think of that ????

Im so glad everyone is doing so well and the mood on the thread seems quite upbeat! Im so relieved that my blood tests showed nothing horrible but Im still going to have AF days in the week and on the days I do drink Im not going to overdo it. I had dandelion and burdock last night too! Yum!
Thanks for everyones good wishes - I just need to go back to the docs now to see if he has any idea what is causing my itchy skin if its not my liver.
I was good yesterday and only had 2 very tiny malibu's with my dinner with a lot of lemonade in and then had no more alcohol after that. :T
I will agree that the Allen Carr book is quite helpful when trying to stop drinking. It gets you to see alcohol in a very different light to how its portrayed by TV.0 -
