40SM, it is tho, isnt it. It's the only thing so far thats actually encouraged me to do anything about my drinking. Nothing my OH or any friends would say would have made a difference. It's you guys on here, being able to talk about it openly, and knowing you are not being judged and that there are plenty more like us. xx:j0

And have just realised that only those of a certain age are even going to remember 7 and 14 inch records and get this (admittedly awful) "joke".
eta: I've got 600 singles, not jokes! you'll be relieved to hear. I just realised that I'm on 100 days AF today.:j40somethingmum wrote: »Welcome Back WB,

There certainly are. I was reading an article in a mag Yesterday ( I think it was RED) Which said drinking a bottle of wine a night was almost the "norm" among women these days . I don't really talk about it amongst people I know but recently i was at a school function ( in the church I may add ) when one of the parents ( who is also a teacher at the school) said that her drinking at got out of control and that she can't get enough of wine. Then all the other parents nodded in agreement and said that is normal ... everyone does it. I kept "stoom" . At first , the paranoid me thought "this is a trap " they have rumbled me  . BUT then I noticed that I was one of the few you did not have a glass of wine in my hand.:T .
It doesn't make it any easier though

I think they're only 12 inches, you optimist......)/QUOTE]
Knew something wasn't quite right about that when I was writing it, but couldn't check as have given all my records to the charity shop - a job lot of Culture Club, Dollar, Kajagoogoo et al (hmmmm, 'donating' or 'dumping' going on here?).
Got to confess to a glass in front of me too. A light red wine, shouldn't give me a headache tomorrow hopefully. Tomorrow it's back on that wagon and back to excersising too (oh god, I can't spell it let alone do it ).

It's gone six and I haven't had my first drink tonight. The plan was a pre-dinner G&T, but I decided that I wasn't allowed to have it until all the food preparation was done, because I know from experience that I can sink a LOT while cooking, and barely notice or even enjoy it. So I've just had tonic so far. OH is now pouring me one with gin, and I'll sit down and have it without multi-tasking.
I may have some wine with dinner but we don't plan to open more than one bottle.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -
