    Hi all, TGIF!!

YM, you can stop making strange noises as you don't scare me one bit, you're far too nice for that! Hope your shift goes OK.

Cazza, I agree that you should stop worrying about September just focus on tonight and take it from there. Like PIR I amazed myself the other week at a party. I was surrounded by old drinking mates but resolutely stood in the kitchen (as you do at parties) and kept filling my glass from the tap!! (soft drinks on offer were too sweet for my tastes). I could have weakened and stayed over but I chose not to. I came on here afterwards totally stunned.

fay, maybe I shouldn't have but I did laugh at the idea of you 'borrowing' wine from lodger. At least you did replace it instead of filling the bottle with water or Ribena!

BHB, maybe you should be thinking of the drinks as part of your 'holiday' especially as you missed out on yours this year. Perhaps plan some more AF days for September. Well done on cutting back units though.

wobbled, I don't know how you'll cope with OH drinking wine tonight. My OH (who has been a born-again beer drinker for the past year or so) announced today that he thinks he'll go back to wine. I know I'm going to find it much harder on AF nights with him drinking my favourite tipple (beer doesn't do it for me). I'm wondering whether to have his & hers bottles:rotfl:as he says he's planning a couple of glasses every night and I'm an all or nothing sort of drinker. If we share a bottle I'll lose track of how much I've had. What a problem to have:eek:

115K, I'm joining you tonight. Enjoy!
  • HI all,

Still at work, but counting the minutes until 5pm, not long now :D :j

OMG the bells are clanging in my ears at the moment. I don't know what's wrong with me today, I've just been feeling low AND obsessing about drinking - a bad combination!

I am travelling home on the bus tonight (I normally get picked up by my OH so I can't buy any booze normally) so in less than half an hour, I am "free" to buy some on my way home.

I feel awful for even thinking about it, but I can't help it. Having a bad bad day today. Probably the worst since I stopped drinking 12 days ago. I've got the 12 day itch. Didn't know there was such a thing, but there is now!

    Hugs,

  • 40SM - thanks for asking about the results. 3 AS levels were good (Maths, English and Art) but had a shock with History. Been to see Deputy Head this morning, and he says it's such a random mark that doesn't fit in with the rest that he recommends us to have it re-marked. So that's what's happening. If she has to re-sit in January it will be a bit of a pain for her to say the least! (and for the rest of the family) You've got all this to look forward to!!! You think it's bad now with squabbling little boys - wait until the GCSEs etc start !!!!

    Have a good day everybody.

No wine for me tonight cos still decorating and then tennis tomorrow am and I'm so bad that I can't have anything to drink the night before!!

    Bi for now

  • Hi team,

Just a very quick post to send you all my love as I am off on holiday at crack of sparrow fart tomorrow. I am not planning alcohol intake either way on holiday, but will be resolute on my return.

YM, could you please put me down for 20 days AF in September? Thank you very much.

Have a lovely week everyone, vibes of strength for those who need them, and giddy giddy for those who don't.

    Byeeee!!!

  • YM still thinking perhaps 20 days - that means I can 'drink' at the weekends if I want to but abstain during the week - made myself do a whole number of crappy jobs today cos I was feeling stupid and a bit pants- I know it should be 30 but when I don't make my target I get a bit all over the place.

I am not great with any alcohol in the house the french wine and I have been wrestling for 7 weeks now - that's how long its been in the house unopened.

    Whoops

Waves to all - Cazza stay strong....

All eyes on the intake when I go back to work. :D

I have to say - I was sort of thinking that in the back of my mind too :o

Can't wait to get back into routine though  - how sad am I, wishing away my holiday.:rotfl:

  • Gosh, 3 hours without a single post on here - is that a record? (no, a record's a small black round thing with a hole in the middle etc - boom boom!). And have just realised that only those of a certain age are even going to remember 7 and 14 inch records and get this (admittedly awful) "joke".

Well, have had what was left in last night's wine bottle - about a third. Drinking coffee now but have the 'alco-lust' and offie is only 5 mins walk away.

Help! Is there anyone out there? Please someone tell me to drink a tall glass of water and hit the sack, which is what I really want to do but the irrational voice is shouting.
