Hi all, well I didnt make me 3 days on the trot AF last night - I had 3/4 of a bottle Savignon but there is one glass left in the fridge, still an achievement for me. I'm going for another AF today tho and I'm going offer to drive my OH to the pub to see a band. Will prob give hiim heart failure as I NEVER drive to the pub, either he ends up driving or we get a taxi home. Tonight, it's going to be different!!
Cazz, you are doing so fantistically well and everything Graeme says is so right (words of wisdom the whole way), take one day at a time, plan today, dont frett yourself over whats going to happen in September, thats such a long way off yet, you of course wont in any way be 'free' of drink then, BUT you may feel a whole lot stronger than you do today and may feel a lot less threatened by the thought of spending the evening in the company of someone who is drinking. One step at a time.....
I hope your friend knows just how difficult this is for you and takes time to look at the situation. Perhaps keep her posted, keep her informed as to how well you are doing and how pleased you are with yourself and how better you feel..........may make her think twice about needing to get completly smashed when she sees you? Just a thought.....
Be back soon..

Morning everybody
Cazz - I had a similar experience: I went for lunch in Manchester a couple of months ago with very 3 old friends with whom I have spent many very drunken times over the years. I prefer to go for lunch nowadays cos it's easier to say no to alcohol or just have one or two drinks without getting p***ed. They all were drinking in a pub beforehand, I drank apple juice. I told them I had to drive my daughter somewhere later. We then went to an italian restaurant for lunch - the smell of garlic always makes me crave a lovely glass of wine. They drank wine, I drank water. I was so pleased with myself and told all my virtual friends on here. I was also able to remember everything we had talked about, which was great, as I was able to think about what had been said on the way back - I've usually forgotten everything, which is really frustrating. I think it was easier for me not to drink because there were 4 of us, so not as intense.
Just my experience! I'm still a cutter downer, not an abstainer, but have reduced intake considerably. August is not a great month for me due to summer holiday and kids being off school.
Have a great day everybody

Them were the days
Morning allI also only some of a bottle of red wine last night & have freezed some as ice cubes for cooking purposes. Baby steps, I guess
Not even going to attempt AF over the weekend cos of long-standing commitments so I'll be away but good luck to all who are & I'll catch you all soon
xx
Have a lovely weekend Honeybear . I often freeze some wine when I open the bottle so that I can't drink the whole bottle. I am pleased to say that I have not yet resorted to having "slush puppy wine" when I have changed my mind later:rotfl:

Hi Gargrave
I also had a bottle of wine last night . Had a terrible nights sleep .... awake between 2am and 6am then had to get up at 7.30am.

Oh this so sounds like me last night - the occasion - hormonal watching 'house' fire on - NO reason.
Trying to be AF tonight just arranged to do some work later on tonight so will be having to drive at 11pm
So..............can't drink. Maybe I should become a taxi driver????
Went shopping for a couple bits really early today - had to replace the lodgers wine (whoops) she was sleeping I saw it as a temporary loan.:oTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

AF for me last night - that's 4 in a row, can't remember the last time ever did that...
debating tonight, it's my "3 bottles of wine & pass out by 10 o'clock night" tonight...
almost went to the pub last night for that beer - even went to the cash point & took out a tenner, walked to the pub & said actually, nah, lets just walk, so that's a good thing...
hubby said he'll be drinking tonight - he said we'll just get in one bottle & he'll have it... but i said if he's sat there drinking it i'll want some!! and then part of me thinks well it's friday, why the bl00dy hell not? i'm not ready i don't think to stop drinking for ever more, but cutting down as i have this week would be a lovely way forward...
as long as it stays that way...
good luck all over the weekend.
