Want to catch up but don't really have the time today. Will try tomorrow.

I've been scuppered by white wine today. Minor celebration at work and I just didn't have the bloody GUTS to say no.

Very annoyed with myself so will post tomorrow when I'm looking at it sensibly!

GC - that sounds exactly like my Dad's behaviour when I was a child. I don't talk to him or my Mum (also alcoholic) anymore.

    .

    Quite
    That's why I don't drink anymore.
I know that alcoholism is hereditary, and that if I carry on drinking, the chances of my children being alcoholic are much greater.
Thus for the sake of me and my 2 young kids, I don't drink.

    P.s Welcome to newbies!

I have kept your seat on the wagon warm for you Miss P.:hello:

I had periods like that. That's the amazing thing about alcohol - it made me feel carp when I drunk it, I felt fine when not drinking, but still I drank!!!
What other things in life do I make such stupid decisions? None probably (well, none as regular as drinking)
That was my alcoholism - life with no drink is better. Life WITH drinking is worse. So why did I drink? Madness, and only one that can be explained by my alcoholism.
  • Mmmmm, just watched The Street. Anyone else see it?

I thought it was pretty good on the whole. I like how it ended on a sentimental but high note. Dealing with alcoholism like that doesn't often end well. But it's TV viewing and you can't send everyone off to bed feeling depressed :rotfl:

An AF day for me please. 2......not good. But I'm working on it. Off to bed now to read my book without nodding off!

    Much love X
    Need to start again :o

Yeah, was just about to post and ask the same thing.

Very sobering program I thought, and no pun intended there at all.

Quiet night on here, must have been good telly unless everyone's on holiday/partying!

    5AF please Miss Piggy.

Sorry to hear about your temporary lapse Miss P but it couldn't have been too bad if you were sober enough to update our scores. Thank you for doing that and remember shiny new day tomorrow.

This may be my one and only AF day this week as out with friends next 2 days and Thursday is my wedding anniversary (29 years ), nothing planned as yet but I'm sure a special meal and wine to match is called for.

Excellent piece of TV. Brought it home how some of us ( I include myself in that!) can put alcohol before everything else.

It also showed that it can be beaten.
