I think these are brilliant ideas and hope it will stop all the rubbish from first timers that appeared on the Damien Hirst comp thread.
Normally I try to ignore someone getting a bit sarky or ratty as everyone can have a bad day but it is better to actually answer a newbies question than cross refer to somewhere else.
I have been a member for a while now and it is really only recently (in the last couple of months reallly) that I have noticed some people being a bit nasty.
Go for it Martin and try ice packs and heat for the RSI it doesn't stop it but it can sometimes ease it off a bit.If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.

Many thanks to Martin and team.
Personally I think this move is much needed and welcome the changes.0 -

I second that. I thought three posts is hardly five minutes membership for someone new who has just found us and got all excited about registering! I'd think a period of at least a couple of weeks, or say 50 posts, whichever happens first, would be more realistic.
Not that I've ever noticed anyone being unkind to newbies, but maybe I don't use those boards.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I do feel you was bullying me yesterday, as you was the leader in the posting yet you voted for someone in the thread who put there name down because she lived near you. Seemed that you had double standards.
You wasnt the only one, but I had a pm to say sorry from others.0 -

some of them do but there's a lot that don't ?
Hi Korky
I think you know that I didn't mean just melots of people post here, thats what makes it a great forum, I would hate you to think I was banging my own drum.
I love finding new comps - who could forget the giant lamp - that was one of mine - the thread was hilarous :rotfl:
For a while I have had more time that usual time to find them, I've always comped (just not here until recently) and have been so thrilled that some people have won from my posts - just as I have had some wins from other people's posts. Its the community I have been enjoying, and for the most part I have found it a very positive forum. I wont be posting quite so much in future, as I got a job today after a year out of work :j so its more for other comp posters I had in mind.
Sorry if that's off topic.0 -
At the immediate top of the thread on the right it says 'views' and gives the number. Next to that is a white down arrow on a blue background; click that.
Good heavens, I never realised that! Of course presumably it can only take you to the page you were on, not the post, unless it's psychic!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Make the board for subscribers only. £5/year would be OK0

I think you should refer the thread as I suggested.
Just because I politely told you that you'd posted on the wrong board doesn't make me a bully or abuser, just because it wasn't what you wanted to hear.
I cant be accused of flaming a newbie, you've been here longer than I have, I've just made more posts.
I've decided I'll just lurk in future, so this is the last post from me on this forum.0 -
