    I'm intrigued now.... ;)

I know it's the new Xmas lights (and they are beautiful!) with the crown. Have I missed something really obvious?!!

What sort of wedding are you planning? A Disney one? There are loads of great websites for advice if so - I'll dig them out if you like.

I'm never convinced that the VH sales are always cheaper, personally (I'm not saying they never are!).

There are ways to book Disney hotels cheaper if you book direct - would you be prepared to do that? Do you have a hotel in mind?

Sorry, more questions than answers ;)

Unfortunately a Disney wedding is a bit too expensive so we're looking at The Swan & Dolphin or maybe Leu Gardens. Would like to stay in Port Orleans and make use of the free dining but not sure if it is really worth it?

Also does anybody have any opinions of Thomson or Thomas Cook as we may fly to Sanford?

Only good about Thompson/First Choice the aircraft was roomy clean and the trolly dollies great.and we found Sanford excellent and quick. And unusually the immigration officer smiled!!

Free dining is a good deal (though not as good as it once was ;) ) and I can highly recommend Port Orleans. Would you stay at Riverside or French Quarter?

I imagine Swan / Dolphin would be a nice place to get married. I don't know anything about Leu Gardens.

  • Thanks for the link:smiley:

I was thinking Riverside as it seems quiter and dare I say more romantic! Although people have told me it's very big:confused:

Have now read some reviews of Thomas Cook and it seems Thomson/First Choice is the way to go and much cheaper than Virgin premium Economy.

Just need to buy a new camera now as the last one took a bit of a bang on the Hulk last year!

Well, it is certainly a lot bigger than the French Quarter but big is kind of a relative term ;)

You can always request a block that put you in a more central location, but most of the blocks have pros and cons (as with anything in life!)

Wherever you stay you won't be far from a bus stop which, if you are feeling lazy, you can use to go to a different part of the resort. I would not have said that any of the rooms were more than a maximum ten minute stroll to the central areas though.

I prefer the pool at Riverside, and the food court plus you have a sit down restaurant if you fancy that. The boat to DTD is lovely. I prefer the surroundings and atmosphere at Riberside too, although FQ is great in its own way too (that's a personal thing isn't it? Hard to say whether you will prefer one over the other!).

Good thing about FQ is that all the theme park buses stop here first before going around Riverside, so you usually get a seat if you get on first. They also drop off at FQ first which is a big bonus if you've been on your feet all day. The only bus that goes the other way round is the Typhoon Lagoon / DTD bus. When it's busy the resorts have their own buses but often share.

If you've not already been here, can I highly reccommend the following unofficial, but absolutely excellent, website?
