Well at last its booked 2weeks end of May 2010, 6 months to go and counting.
Can anyone please advise me about swimming with dolphins? This is one of my girls main priorities ans likely to be the highlight of the holiday for my eldest. Is it true I need to book this now? This is our first time to Florida so all information is greatly appreciated.
I don't know the age of your children but there is a minimum age for the dolphin swim at Discovery Cove. It's possible to get a "non swimming" ticket in that instance.
I would agree it's good to book early to secure your first choice of dates. Discovery Cove is a great choice on a date that is likely to be busy at the parks, as the maximum number of people admitted never changes, so while it could be super busy at Universal/Disney, Discovery Cove will be no busier than it ever is
I reccommend arriving early so you get your choice of swimming times (plus all food is free so you can enjoy breakfast here rather than paying before you arrive).

Girls wil be 11 & 7yrs, both can swim. We are staying in Kissimee. Is Discovery Cove far? and or are there other places we can do it that are nearer?0

Discovery Cove is literally opposite Sea World, not far from Kissimmee (dead easy if you are driving, if not there is public transport but I'm not too sure how you'd get there with that).
I'm not aware of anywhere else in Orlando that lets you swim with dolphins....0 -
Thanks atro1
Can anyone tell me if it was here I saw information about buying a stick (or something) for photos at the theme parks to be downloaded on - so you have a set price to pay for the stick...
I could be talking at cross purposes here, and have got my story completely mixed up!!I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -

What is the age requirement to swim with the dolphins?
Guests of all ages are welcomed at Discovery Cove. To swim with the dolphins, however, guests must be at least 6 years old. This policy was established to ensure the cognitive and physical stature of the child. These factors are taken into consideration to ensure children are able to interact in a group social setting, accept instructions, and understand the trainer. Also, the physical size of the child is taken into account since he/she will be in water that is approximately 3 feet deep with large, powerful animals. Also, children must be at least 15 years of age to participate in the Trainer for a Day program without an accompanying adult and at least 13 years of age to visit Discovery Cove without adult supervision.I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -

Do you mean Disney's Photopass? I'm not sure that is what you mean but it's the closest I can come up with?0 -
Can anyone give me an idea of the price of the lanyard pins/badges in Disney? Have got both my dds a lanyard and am wondering if I should get them a few pins off ebay to get them started?
Also, rough idea of T-shirts at the parks? I've heard that its best to get them from an outlet store... any recommendations?
Many Thanks0 -
Ophie. The only thing I have ever used is Disney Photopass. And sadly not all the pics you have taken seem to be on it. But doing a screen shot when you come home certainly saves money!:rotfl:Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

The Parks are full of stations selling pins and Disney T's. These are much cheaper in outlets including Disney shop in Premium outlet, and the Walmarts and Targets. I think just about all the T's and pins on sale in Disney you can buy outside Disney! Cheaper but you will have to search for them.
The new target east on the 192 just before the I27 has a massive collection of Disney apparel! Very reasonable price too.
But the best place for T's we found this year, of all places was Billy Bobs opposite Medieval Times on the 192. Its a ticket bucket shop but has a limited number of T's at very cheap prices.
Billy Bobs is a place to go if you need tickets when you are out there certainly if you have a pc terminal and book your tickets through Ticketmania. Billy Bobs is where you pick your tickets up. For a place with such a silly name it is very helpful and efficient! :beer:Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -

If you are a little worried about the cost of the pins then you can buy some really cheap ones as mentioned then you can swap pins with the cast members. I believe they have to exchange pins if asked.
So you can always buy a few cheap ones to exchange. God fun for the children too. May do it myself. Take up no space in the suitcase when you take them home.January Grocery 11/3740
