thanks, Yep it is a brits villa, he has come down to £2000 from an original quote of £2700 tax incl for 5 weeks not incl pool heat. (in laws are there longer than us). Would we pay the guy direct or through the last minute website?
It is on Linfields estate..does anyone know this location?
Hi, Mamamoi, I too can confirm that Lindfields is a decent location- we stayed there when it was quite new- I guess it would be about 10 years ago now. The Sherberth road short cut is pretty useful on busy days as posted.
You seem to be pulling a pretty good quote and having a UK contact is reassuring. When booking a villa with the owner, even through an agency website there is inevitably an element of trust, but when you can build a bit of a rapport directly with the owner and perhaps read guest comments others have left you can feel a bit more confident.
Dont forget there is an element of trust required by the owner too- the friend we rent from has had a couple of nightmare occupants. Their security deposit nowhere near covered the damage they left!
Good luck!0 -

I have had great fun digging around the otehr company you used.

They not only steal photos of other peoples villas they do what they did to you all the time.
I also had the admins on the Dibb alert all the villa owners there and also on topforums as well.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Lots of people do this.
Personally, I paid for my three year old as I didn't want her to lie at the gate if they asked how old she was. But YMMV.
at the end of you day as karenG says load of pople do this. To me is not actually an age thign but a what can they do thing. If they are th sort of kid that will sit in the buggy and not really run around and its quite shy and apprehensive then dont bother. If you knwo they are going to enjoy a few rides, will make use of it then yes do so.
Its your call rally but I'd always pay as mine got the best from itSelf confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

We were really shocked last week when we found out their history & previous companies....I wonder how they can sleep at night? Thanks for alerting other villa owners through the Dibb. We are lodging complaints with the management assoc and with the BBB. I just hope they get closed down soon before they do this to anyone else. From the sounds of it though, they'll just start a new company with a new name and do it all over again!
Thanks to everyone who has offered help & advice on here, it is very much appreciated0 -
hello all, im looking to put together a 2 week holiday to disney world florida, im under the impression fly drive is the cheapest? i want it to be a suprise for my wife and kiddies so would appreciate anyones help! my wife has been very down on her luck recently so really any help would be useful in respect to flights, villa's, tickets car hire etc as she usually does everything
there will be 4 adults and two children going (5 and 1 years of age)
am looking around the end of may or august next year, as cheap as possible
thanks in advance again0 -
hello
Not ventured here before.
I've just booked to go to Florida on 10th January 2010 for 2 weeks. I am going with my Mother and my 4 year old daughter. We are staying on I-Drive and haven't got a car - we could have but I decided that actually we probably wouldn't use one due to the shuttle thingy and buses. I hope I wasn't wrong, and of course the problem of having to hire a car seat for my daughter for the entire two weeks when we'd probably only use it to and from the airport.
My holiday does not include food or any theme park tickets. Can you give me clues about which parks are going to be the ones to go to with a small person (when I say small she's 96 cm's tall), she's also very skinny and certainly not trustworthy enough to go on a ride on her own.
Does that help at all?
Also where would I get the cheapest tickets from please.I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
lukeg81. Hi.
Try Thompson/First choice for May but leave until the last moment and there 'should' be some Bargains going!
Go to first page for different companies to try for all your needs.
I have mainly used http://www.lastminutevillas.net for villas, just pump your requirements in and you will be surprised how many replies. I have used these for about 10 years. Until last year when I used the Dibb. http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/index.php when I used their villa rentals thread.
Tickets for the parks, trawl the net from the first page then argue with http://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk/ to price match if you find cheaper. They will match most including undercover tourist and themeparktickets. ATD issue proper tickets usually give you a little extra in your parcel. Excellent company to deal with if there are any problems.
Car rental http://www.usrentacar.co.uk/ found these to have one of the best choices and prices.
Personally I always get my flights first before I try for anything else.
I could not imagine 'doing' Florida without a car but many do and have a very good time so a car is not really essential but for the cost its worth it imho.
Hope that helps, if you want something more specific just ask someone on here will be able to answer for you.:beer:Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
hello
Have a look at post for LUKEG81 #793, Some of your questions answered there.
As to parks to go to. All the parks have kiddie zones but Universals Islands of Adventure is mainly for adults apart from 'Suess Landing [cat in the hat etc]. Lot of rides have child swop [not permanently, sorry] area's which enable you to go on rides while kiddies are looked after.

Kiddies car seat, take your own, airlines seem to take these without charge in baggage hold. Try it without a car, and if need be hire from rental companies they are all over the Kissimmee /Orlando area.
To me the most expensive commodity in Florida is time and having our own transport certainly saves that. But I do not wish to go into, To or Not to hire a car. Its been argued to death for years with no real end result!
Very few holidays include food, as you can eat, very well, cheaply, excessively and with a great range of restaurants, you are never far from an eaterie!:beer:Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Well at last its booked 2weeks end of May 2010, 6 months to go and counting.
Can anyone please advise me about swimming with dolphins? This is one of my girls main priorities ans likely to be the highlight of the holiday for my eldest. Is it true I need to book this now? This is our first time to Florida so all information is greatly appreciated.0 -
