Hi.
Does anyone know about what locks - if any - that I can use on my suitcase?:o

I don't think so, I certainly had my bags inspected on the way home last month, they left a very nice letter inside explaining that they'd done so. I was more impressed that they managed to close it again afterwards, it took me ages!!0 -
So....... can I lock my cases going?
Can I lock my cases coming back?
Cheers.:j I hope my comment helps :T0 -

There are different schools of thought on this. I bought the TSA approved locks. You can get different types - combination, key, really advanced ones that tell you whether the TSA have opened. I use these on my bags.
DH on the other hand just went to Halfords and bought a bunch of colour coded cable ties and uses them through the locks. So they get cut off if they need to get in, but nothing gets ruined and its much more obvious if someone tries to break into your bag. He works in security for an airline so I have to take his word for it when he says this is a good way of securing bags..Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I was going to buy new cases for Florida, I usually have the ones with hard sides with the built in combination locks. Does anyone know please if these are 'approved locks' or am I wasting my money as they'll get damaged?0

Make sure you have a means of cutting off the cable ties where you are going - you're not allowed scissors / nail clippers etc. in your hand luggage, so would need to use something from the place you're staying in.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I guess maybe it depends on the airline/airport, but I always take small round-ended nail scissors, the sort you buy to cut babies fingernails (like these - http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Baby-nail-scissors/dp/B000IVTZRU/ref=sr_11_1/275-2728013-6417566?_encoding=UTF8&mcb=core#productInfo) - in my hand luggage. I always declare them when asked by security - but never had a problem.
From Virgin Atlantic website - http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/passengerinformation/baggage/handbaggage.jsp
Scissors (scissors with blunt/round-ended blades, metal or plastic, less than 6cms in length or scissors with metal blades and pointed tips under 3cms are permitted).
I'm sure I've seen them for sale in Boots (airside) at Gatwick - would they sell them if they couldn't be taken in hand luggage?2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I'd love to take my daughter & her two children (3&8) to Disney but it appears so complicated, I'm not sure I'll bother.“Everything comes to pass, nothing comes to stay.”0
